Does Sheens use a depth chart?

Like they do in American sports? I swear it's pretty clear that he doesn't, based on the way players were swapped around from one position to another this season.

It's a chart where you list in order of preference who you are going to play at each position. If the player at the top of the list for a specific position is unavailable due to, say, injury or suspension or rep duty, then the next player listed would play the position.

An example for the Tigers, using the hooker position:

1\. ROBBIE FARAH
2\. MASADA IOSEFA
3\. TOM HUMBLE

So whenever Robbie was unavailable, Iosefa would fill in. If he was unavailable, then it would be Humble. Obviously, some players would be listed at more than one position. However, when the season started Sheens should have been organised so that each player would have a primary position that they would always play. Benji should have been inked in as the five-eighth, IMO.

ok thanks man, i get it now. to answer your question, no, i highly doubt sheens has one of these.

i think he belies too much in combinations. if i put him there, then the spine is too inexperienced.. so i will put him there, the other guy there and bring in someone else here.

he doesn't realise that you can't build combinations in a week, it takes time.

I think his philosophy seems to revolve around picking the best 17 players he has available or close to it. NFL is a bit different to NRL - it's not like you can move your 2nd choice QB to WR.

Also given he has a 25 man squad limits his options.

Its not like you can move a half to fullback, a center to 5/8, a lock to hooker and a winger to center either…

Well, you can, if you dont have a clue
