Does Taylor has the respect of NRL players?

@GNR4LIFE said:
Yeah, cos Gibbs would have first hand experience having never played under him. And Moltzen is a reliable source as well having played in NSW cup the last 3 yrs. Notice so far the only players who have graced us with their valued opinions have been members of the old boys club. I'm sure Heignno, Ryan and Marshall will give us their unwanted opinions next.

You've given yours as well. The difference being they know what they are talking about,

YES he has lost the dressing room
and surprise surprise that happened a few weeks into this season.

It was always seen as a very very risky appointment, given that he has little to NO respect from any NRL players.
club legends held their breath and said - "lets wait and see"
then he sacked a bunch of them and told Farrah to forgo his Australian jersy.
GREAT START to his career at the tigers.
As they say in the big smoke - sometimes silence speaks volumes -
interestingly NOT 1 of the current tigers squad ever comes out in support of him.
rather, they talk cautiously about "working hard trying to understand the game plans"

I don't know why you highlight RANDOM words in capitals. DOES it make you feel like you GET your point further ACROSS than it really does?

That is the thing i believe he has lost the dressing room and they don't respect the bloke .
It's funny when Taylor 1st came to the Club how highly he was talking about his Captain ( Farah ) and now his shafting him . To me Taylor can feel the pressure and if he has quoted in saying that " if Farah stays he will be playing Reserve Grade " what an absolute insult . Taylor knows it's only a matter of time for him as well , it really shows the Character of the bloke .

Taylor is maybe trying to get one on the chin from Farah on Mad Monday

Can you give us a link that quote?

Robbie Farah told by Wests Tigers if he stays he will be playing reserve grade

Robbie Farah has revealed the Tigers told him he will not play NRL if he remains at the club next season.

On Tuesday night, Wests revealed the skipper had been granted permission to look elsewhere despite still having two years remaining on his contract.

It is not a release but Farah, who said he is "not willing to walk away without a fight", told reporters after training on Wednesday morning: "I've been told if I stay I will be playing reserve grade."

It is a bitter pill to swallow for the hooker, who has spent over a decade with the club since making his debut in 2003 and desperately wants to remain a one-club player.

"I love this club. I've given blood sweat and tears to this club. I've given everything," he said.

"The biggest thing for me all my career was to finish as a one-club player," added Farah, who has played more games for the club than anyone in history.

"It was something that meant a lot to me and in the past I've stayed here through a lot of tough times when I've had opportunities to leave, but the thing that kept me here was I'm a local junior and it's a club that is dear to my heart."

Further to that, with the Tigers' final two games being played at Campbelltown and Sydney's Olympic stadium, Farah said it was "a massive dagger in my heart" to know he will likely never again play for the Tigers at their spiritual home, Leichhardt Oval.

Have your say: What do you think of the Wests Tigers' decision to cut captain Robbie Farah from their squad?
"The fact that I won't get a proper farewell to the fans and the club and my team-mates … is disappointing because of what I have done here," he said.

"And it would have been nice to go out in a better fashion."

Media player: "Space" to play, "M" to mute, "left" and "right" to seek.

Speculation is rife as to where the New South Wales rake may land, with South Sydney appearing the early front-runners as the premiers have lost Kiwis hooker Issac Luke to the Warriors and Farah's brother Eddie is a member of the training staff.

But Farah would not be drawn on the guesswork, saying Souths is a great club but his main focus is on helping the 16th-placed Tigers avoid the wooden spoon.

While clearly ill-at-ease with the call, Farah said he understood the club's salary-cap issues coupled with his back-loaded contract meant it would be "difficult for them to keep me here".

The State of Origin hooker said it had always been his intention to remain a one-club player but the Tigers have prevented him from realising that goal.

Coach Jason Taylor did not reveal much when asked about the reason for the club's decision.

"We have given Robbie permission to negotiate and we don't have any more to say about it," he said.

Former Tigers captain Ben Elias sais the decision reeks of off-field problems at the Tigers.

"It is a sudden shock, and for the life of me I can't understand why," Elias told Fox Sports.

So it was Farah who said it - there is no quote whatsoever from management or coaching staff saying he would play NSW cup. I am beginning to think this guy just likes stirring shit when he doesn't get his way. If he was angry about why didn't he name who said it instead just saying the tigers told him - what crap.

Hey…..lets get a GOOD coach

What's Bellyache up to next year. :imp:

Bellamy has always rejected us once, prior to Sheens coming on board the deal with Bellyache was 'all but signed seal and delivered', then came a fateful night at Campbelltown where the Baby Broncos put the cleaners through our best ever side for the season in the middle of SOO 2002.
It's been mentioned BTW that Taylor was knocked out by one of his players during his stint at Souffs, it actually happened at the end of the season when for what ever unknown reason Taylor joined the players on Mad Monday and had a little faux pas when he tried to be the Karate Kid while full as a boot and one of his players took exception to the coach being a goose and minutes later JT was gorn.

I'm sick of hearing people say players don't play for the coach. That's complete b.s. They should play for the shirt on their back and for the effort the bloke along side them has put in day after day, week after week, year after year. Play as a damn team. Enough of the ego!

Well said…but if that don't work out insert (Sheens Potter Taylor Stone Toovey Elliott Price Griffen) can't Coach...

How about some **_PRIDE_** in the jersey for the Club and **_FANS_** you represent…

I'd love to hear Wayne Bennetts views on this

Wayne Bennett says the way Farah has been treated is a bad look for the game because fans want players to remain loyal to clubs - turns fans away from the game. Rotating coaches tend to have a negative effect on the makeup of clubs.
I dont think you will get anyone currently involved in the game supporting the way the club has treated Farah even if they understand the need to clear the cap pressure. Love him or hate him, he has been a champion for this club and he deserves better treatment than he has received from the current do drop ins - and quite frankly based on their current contribution to the club that is all they will be to me at this point - talked lots and achieved not much. They at least owe the fans of Farah the opportunity to farewell him in the manner he deserves rather than five days notice of their intention to shaft him, before our last home game. And why wouldnt his ex playing mates vent their disapproval - that's what a loyal mate does. Embarrassed to be a fan of this club this week.

Well said mate. Ryan has already been stirring on social media.

The more I think about it, the better a move I think this is

What makes me upset if the players have been responsible for Sheens, Potter and maybe Taylor's demises is the lack of respect these players have for authority and how arrogant and egotistic they are. They need to wake up to themselves as most of them are so lucky to be playing a sport they love for decent money, have plenty of leave when the season is over (9 weeks I lead to believe when most of us only get 4 weeks a year and maybe less for self employed) and have the best support staff and access to club members with contacts to help further their life after football careers are over. I bet nearly 90% of these guys without their football ability would never have the capacity or intelligence to make the money they do if it wasn't for football. Also how about the loyal fans that spend their hard earn money on tickets and merchandise expecting their team to give their all on the field rather than find new ways to back stab the coach. I think it's time for the players at Wests Tigers to grow up and respect whatever coach we have and give 100% in a career they have choosen and have pride in their performance. If getting rid of Farah and Marshall is a way to break up the old boys club then I all for it as long as other players don't replace them. Hopefully with the old boys club gone including support staff hopefully the new generation of players concentrate on playing good football week in week out and give the coach the respect they deserve. Even if we had Bellamy or Bennett I still think they would struggle with our current playing roster and the legacy of previous mis management and poor decisions. Hopefully these back ended contracts are a thing of the pass as they seem to be a big part of our problems.

This is exactly what I am getting at.

Taylor was not well liked at Souths.

It was a risky appointment. I t could still turn around, but the fall out from this might be a tipping point.

No matter what the most vocal here are saying you only need to look around the NRL community to see what this decision has done for Jason Taylor's reputation. No decent player with good management will go anywhere near this club. The only ones he will be able to win over are the desperate and those unwanted by their own clubs.

Can't think of a better way for the Morale of the players to go into there Off Season Holidays with so much cloud hanging over there heads with the direction the Club is heading .
Fantastic timing to it all , it's going to be one long Off Season and quite frankly the longer the better…..the EPL is back baby and the NFL .

Really looking forward ot the NFL. Professional organisation and just great to watch to get away from everything that is Wests Tigers and the NRL.

He might be a smart coach but does anyone actually like him and want to play for him?

They got so fed up at Souths one of their own players knocked him out.

It doesn't take a genius to read between the lines here. Moltzen and Gibbs have already bagged him directly and indirectly. You know they would be talking to some of the current players in first grade who hold similar views but cant say it for fear of reprisal.

Telling your club captain with 2 rounds to go that not only he wont be required and needs to find a new club but also that he will be playing reserve grade in 2016\. It seems seems once again poorly handled, with little to no class and potential for plenty of fall out with fans and players.

Taylor might be right about fixing the cap, and fixing the defence, and structures and game plans and time line and all this hoppla he goes on about it. Wont matter though when he is in there on the white board at half time drawing diagrams if the players basically roll their eyes and think mate, we dont even respect you.

I have never doubted Taylor has a smart operator in some respects but the best coaches have 100% respect and a auru around them i just know if Taylor can command it in regards to his man management.

I am right behind Taylor and the guts he has displayed in making the decision to jettison Farah… Let's face it the last 2 years Farah has mainly been concerned at playing for the blues...his form for us has been, to be direct., crap... Even Farah admitted this... Now if you were Taylor would you be prepared to put up with his crap form for the next 2 years?...at $1m per year of our cap......?....as for Moltzen the club has been too good for this poor injury riddled player... They have fully paid his $350k+ salary for him to spend 2 years in rehab and 1 year in NsW cup... He is a nothing player who has no cred to bag Taylor... As for Gibbs the best thing Sheenius did was jettison this injury plagued player who went on to competing with George Rose for the hi or of being the fattest player in the game....

The club finally realised the problem last year was not the coach but Farah and to acknowledge this and make. Positive section for the future around Farah took a ton of guts....

Exactly. The word will be out, don't come to WTs while Taylor is coach.

Yes, I can just imagine players from other clubs sitting in a bar saying, "did you hear about Wests Tigers, if you underperform, you get asked to leave the club…..it's a horrible club, don't go there."

Seriously, Farah will still get paid. If he was not getting paid his final two years (contract breach) then yes, player managers would avoid Wests like the plague, but that is not the case. This is a case of performance management and costs - pure and simple.

No its not that black and white.

Forget your own opinion on the matter for a minute and look at the rugby league landscape, they are not liking this and the reaction is that this is a joke of a club.

Easy to see if you stop trying to defend the decision.

Taylor has been head coach at 3 clubs all have been surrounded by drama. he got the boot from the first 2 and i would be amazed if he survives 3 years here. That is not the way to get respect from anyone

No. This will all be ancient history in about 2 weeks time.
