Doesnt it feel great!

I agree with the majority here that it was a vastly better team that played in the Tigers colours against the Storm than we have seen in the recent past. However, as I said before the Storm game, our real problems start when we are faced with the monster packs (Souths, Roosters etc) that have up until now, rolled over the top of us. We have been better suited to playing teams like Melbourne that aren't as physical. So, let's see how our efforts match up against the Rabbitohs and (a full strength) Bulldogs. We are a work in PROGRESS (emphasis intended)!
 
It was definitely a step in the right direction, a glimpse of where we're heading. But installing a new theory, defensive and offensive structures, essentially a new philosophy takes time. We should continue to see glimpses of it but expect to see glimpses of our old habits, especially when under pressure, as was the case in the final 20mins on Monday night.
 
I know what your all saying and to some extent I agree, but for me it just highlights how tough Melbourne are.
We probably played to our potential, Melbourne were out of sorts whether it was due to the way we were playing or a bit of fatigue catching up on them from their big off season who knows! but they stuck in there and when they found they're rhythm they put us away pretty easily.
We need to find a way to start scoring some points and really fast its a big problem at the moment.

Yep, not often though which is why I will reserve judgement until we can string those types of performances together on a consistent basis.

2 points…attack wise we were far from our best.Passes werent hitting the mark and we cruelled out field position.

Why did they find their rythym??14-7 ping count and numerous 50/50's......they would have put that score on anyone,most probably more with that late glut of possesion.

But i think we all saw something Monday night that we havent seen for a long time.
I thought we reached new heights.
And yes i agree the consistency is not there.
Thats what Potter is there for.
 
I agree it was a far greater effort and the gameplan seemed to be played out well for most of the game. I thought our forwards looked great when they were running hard to the line (i.e. woods, pettybourne and thompson)
 
The one thing that has impressed me is how Coach Potter is handling the injury situation . Every week one more player in a key position seems to be injured and yet can pretty much gel the team , This in his 5th week in the NRL pretty impressive I say. Defiantly impressed with the change of attitude but as others have intimated let's see this week in week out,on the attacking front it all takes time the defensive structure had to be the first priority,the attacking structure will come in due course.
 
I liked the way we turned them onto their backs in the tackles slowing the speed of their play down.

Yeah but when you find your rhythm you get on a roll and penalties come as a result of that and the 50 50s well that's what you call home ground advantage I suppose. Melbourne have learnt how to win they have the formula belief and confidence that if they do what they need to do they'll come out on top. We haven't got that, and we haven't got the skills to back it atm if we did have it.
 
Sheens would have had a hooker or winger on the bench. Thankfully, Mr Potter recognised the need to fight fire with fire but with Fulton out we are starting to call on young guys - our depth is being tested. Fulton is missing and Big Red is out for the year by the look. Groat may be available soon and Gaveat who I'm told is promising not to far away. Interesting to see young Andrew Vela is back in the 20's - a very promising player who missed last year through injury. Then we have young (still NYC eligible) Curtis Sironen to consider when necessary. Tedesco looked very good for most of the game and really it wasn't his fault late in the game that things went belly up. Do we shuffle Moltzen? Ted at the back? Mr Potter was a champion fullback and I reckon that he would be the best person to judge who is our best fullback option. Like many on this post I agree - I am warming to Mr Potter's approach. Hey - we bashed Manly for most of the first half and just couldn't convert - imagine in the conditions if we'd scored first! A bit of spit and polish and these top 4 teams are going to know they've been in a real game when they play the Mighty Wests Tigers! I have begun to believe!

We have not played that tough since 2011 IMO. A stirring performance and game of the week against the best side going around at their home ground. Was a pleasure to watch them match it with best team in the world for 65 mins. Refs were average also. I only hope we keep it up. Love bodene's aggression!!

We are definatley up there with the bookies, but I think evrybody on this Forum feels like there is some movement, some progress. Try a few things, change a few things, see what gels etc.. All positive from what I can see and this is with the team he was giving, hopefully he will make some changes to suit his way.
 
Refs have been less than average this season. It seems that in video calls most decisions seem effective and i'm OK with most video decisions.

It's just that there seems to be some major probs at the ruck and I'm wondering why the "pocket ref" isn't standing at the ruck and the main ref is in the 10 metre defensive line. Sorry, but is that too obvious?
