Doueihi

Did anyone else notice that Ricky stole Madge’s game plan?
Hodgson played about 50 mins in the middle as a distributor only, enabling Wighton to focus on his running game, albeit still from 5/8 as oppose to at Centre.

Question is this ...Douehi doesn't want to be a centre

Are people worried he might want to leave at contracts end if we play him at 3/4 continually ??

He still has areas of his game to work on as a 5/8th but he is progressing nicely in that role. I think his game is better at 5/8th but the outside backs play better with someone like Mbye as the 5/8th until he improves those areas of his game.

Its a hard one

Chooks were prepared to pay $850K for Latrell to play at centre. Massive money for a centre. Now Doueihi is not that good yet, but a few more performances like Friday night and maybe that perspective changes. If Doueihi plays like that in 50-60% of his games, then he is probably worth close to that coin, even playing at centre.

we will have our book's in order,up 2 date very soon ,if he is worth it he is,15% off cause he loves Mag

I think it will come down to money in the end. How much does a spine player get (fullback, 5/8) versus a centre? He may be even in danger of being branded as the dreaded “utility” - that will probably hurt the hip pocket.

Feel a bit for him as he was our best player at 5/8 but may never play there.

Get the feeling Mbye wont last at 5/8 one way or another and AD will be back. This is just temporary to help us get back on track.

The reason AD was moved to centre was for the purpose of learning that if you play 5/8 your main job is to feed the backline...Mbye did a great job and when AD does move back to 5/8 he will understand that your speed and agressive players NEED the ball to do their job...AD played plenty of centre in his time and now gets what a 5/8 must do to get good flowing play on...

Our centres and Luc got a lot more ball tonight. Such a far better organised team in attack getting strike players clearly involved.

Be interesting to see if it would make a difference to Roberts game.

I'm sure it would. But where would you play him? In place of Talau if he returns soon?

Probably, Talau made some bad errors tonight, flicking the ball inside was horrendous.

They can't risk Talau in the next game, he looks terrible under the high ball, and is slow. He will get bombed to pieces.

Not sure what game you saw but I didn’t think he looked uncomfortable at all, the flick pass into our goal line was more to do with him thinking he was about to go out, mistake yes but he will learn. I think he may have dropped one more later in the game. But he’s never looked bad under the high ball.

I remember in the world cup, he played 2RF, half, centre...

The guy can do it all.

With Hastings coming next year, our team looks like a shake up.

Braith the gronk said Doueihi wants to play 6.

Thought Talau was solid other than a couple of glitches, a nice finish for a try, a well executed try assist and took a pressure bomb early. I’d leave him there.

Wests Tigers centre Adam Doueihi said he felt comfortable with his positional switch this from five-eighth to centre and was happy with the result that it helped deliver for his side at Magic Round.

A team player and future captain.

Doueihi is a footballer he'll play wherever the coach wants he plays well at 5/8 but sometimes runs the ball instead of letting go at centre when given clean ball he is dangerous.

If I were him I'd be more worried about getting flogged every week and doing nothing about it. I think he and the team knows somethng needed to change and those changes seemingly have benefited the team - only time will tell if it was a one-off 🙂

Doueihi won't mind playing centre as long as we are winning and he's playing well I reckon. He's got a few years left on his contract either way - Mbye won't be around much longer anyway I'm sure.

X2

It’s a temporary thing, but with the way we are now, I think we leave him at centre
