Dr Kuah

Jesus… listen to all of you cynics... Please, all of you Kuah bashers, feel free to present your medical degrees at will... Because until you have a medical degree, you're in no position to comment. There's plenty of things that can go wrong, it doesn't necessarily mean the good doctor was responsible.

Seriously, the boys were outclassed today, I don't think Fulton alone would have saved us. You're all fast running out of excuses.

Firstly, I'm not blaming Kuah for the loss, that would be stupidity, I blame our players lack of attitude and defensive ineptness for our loss…

As for Dr Kuah, I'm not saying hes a bad doctor, I don't know the bloke from a bar of soap, but when this sort of incident occurs for the 3rd time in as many seasons then people have a right to mention it in the hope that it is looked into, whether it is Dr Kuah's fault or not, when it happens 3 times and no other club has the issue then looking at ways it could be prevented from happening again is pretty damn recommended.

And as for having an opinion, no I don't have a medical degree, nor am I a qualified astronomer, but if 3 comets smash into my back yard I'm bloody well going to comment on it.

Sheens mentioned in the post game interview on Fox sports that Fulton had been sick all week. Whether it was specific illness or injury he didn't elaborate, except to say that Fulton wanted to play but when it came time to warm up, the Doctor had no choice but to rule him out. He didn't mention any pain killing injections.

Right so fulton was so doubtful, all week we had no one on stand by ???
Fulton was ready to play and the needle meant he couldn't walk
Hence Shirnack had to come down from the stands, borrow boots and play (well i thought)
No other club has had it happen once … this is hit No 3

After a loss people always look for a scapegoat (myself included).Dr Kuah made the correct decision to rule him out as apparently the needles didnt work.I am sure he has to do the same thing on many occasions during the season usually without any problems. To rubbish the man for doing his job is harsh as i believe he does the job with a minimum of fuss and basically he gives up his time for his support of the club.

Geez none of us are football coach's in the NRL but we all comment on the (in)ability of our coach to pick a team. Maybe we should all stop until we have coached in the NRL

Club report says Fulton was ruled out due to illness, Sheens said he couldn't field him in the conditions.

Slightly differnt degrees of training and assumed knowledge for each position.

I would rather a novice coach the Tigers for a week than a novice be my doctor.

But I guess that all comes down to preference

In all fairness, I've never seen this happen to another club… And its happened to us 3 times in 3 years...

Another concern for the Raiders is a back problem for impressive youngster Joel Thompson.
The former Forbes Magpie injured his tailbone at training on Friday but played with the aid of a painkilling injection.
The plan backfired however, with Thompson managing a limited amount of game time.
“Unfortunately I hurt my tailbone during yesterday’s training run. I sort of landed on it and got a bit of a bruise or cork,” Thompson said.
**“I had a needle for tonight but it didn’t really work out after the first half. I’ll know more when I get it seen to properly on Monday.
“It stiffened up after the first half and that was the end of my game."**

So he got on the field and could walk, run, tackle etc.
Unlike Liam Fulton who was needled and couldn't walk - hence a replacement being called from the stand.
Smeghead, how many people in Australia have economics degrees compared to how many comment about the federal budget or state of the economy.
Ray Hadley doesn't have a law degree but comments a fair bit about the law on his morning show ?
Get the point.
I know nothing about medicine. But I do know for a fact that the Dr's needle stuffed Fulton to the point he couldn't walk and we had to drag someone out of his seat, who played a game the day before and who was probably munching down a pie and coke before he got the SoS call and played very well.
And it ain't the first time this Doctor has done it - it's 3 (that we know of) … someone has trawled google and found 1 instance at 1 of the other 16 clubs.
Thus there has been 1 instant in the last 3 yrs at 15 clubs = 1/45 = c. 0.02 bad needles per club per year (and that player played half a game)
We have had it happen 3 times in 3 yrs and we are 1 club = 3/3 = 1 per year
Once it nobbled our best player in a game we had to win to make the semis ... remember all ??
Anyone handy at statistics here ???

ummm, about After working with a number of professional sports teams, I think this would happen more than you realise.

How would anyone know if a player is ruled out late, that the alleged same thing happen. No team announces why a player is a late exclusion, the usual line trotted out is failed a fitness test…

So to say it has not happened to any other team in 3 years is highly speculative.

People generally comment on the budget based on the way it effects them, which is generally information that trickles down to the masses after expert analysis.

Hadley makes comments based on the law as he thinks it should be and his, often glaringly incorrect, interpreatations of the law as it stands. Just because he is a loud mouthed idiot doesn't mean his opinion has any credence. He speaks from the falsely self declared position of the "common man"

I wouldn't take ecconomic advice from Shazza of Shalvey, I wouldn't go to Hadley for a legal opinion and I would not see anyone for a medical opinion other than a qualified physician.

Get the point?

Would you go to Dr Kuah for a needle or would you go to a Doc that hasn't done a changa Langlands on 3 players in 3 years ?? As I said I know nothing about medicine. I do know most clubs haven't had it happen once. I know we have had it happen 3 times. I'm not commenting about medicine I'm commenting about statistics, which I do know a lot about

I would personally.

Than again I am about the furthest you could get from a high grade athelete trying to ride the border between what is possible and what isn't to be able to play.

It happens more than you would think in many sporting organisations but for some reason we are very open about reasons whereas other clubs are not.

If Fulton was so `in doubt' why wasn't a replacement on stand by ??
I'll tell you the answer:
The reason a replacement wasn't on stand by is because he wasn't in doubt, needed a standard needle that happens in most dressing rooms, most weeks of the season and it went wrong, horribly, AGAIN

No you dont.. ur a kid that sits behind the computer playing with ur self

Also if he is as incompitent as you say u better go tell the Olympic Committee, The Australian Hockey team, a few Pro Cyclists, and a heap of other High Profile sports teams he looks after… as he has been looking after them for over 10 years..

u are such a knob

Really ?? We are `open' ??

Tell me where the club has made a statement about what actually happened yday that meant a player had to be called from the stands to play. They have been anything but open smeg
