As if Brett Morris is going anywhere over the off season. Why the hell would they let him go?

Morris has requested a release from the last year of his contract to join the dogs as their fullback,saints are resisting but Morris is still pushing,this could happen.
 
Wouldn't it be good if the NRL allowed trading of players between clubs….similar to that in baseball in the US,
 
Maybe that is what Lawrence needs a new start at a new club , this has worked before for many players. You could not give Galloway away we will be stuck with him until his contract is over.
 
Spoke to a guy I know who is a Saints fan and told him about this

He got excited about Keefy coming

Wasn't so excited when I told him we wanted Dugan and Merrin as trade though LOL

Would it? I thought that too till i realized they'd probably be expecting us to pay half their contracts.
 
Lawrence is on huge coin next year, we'll be hard up freeing up half of what he's entitled to.

We might be able to give away Galloway for near on his whole value.

Even freeing up half of what Lawrence is entitled to would be a step forward for WT.

No way they are worth 1 million even at their best even

800 k at most

You've got to remember when they did the Lawrence's deal they would of assumed Benji would still be here and along with Farah they would of taken up heaps

Also they had no idea what the salary cap increase would be at that time as the TV rights deal was still a twinkle in the NRL's eyes at the time

Lawrence may have been on 450 k max , Keefy 350 k max
 
We re-signed Galloway for another few years earlier in the year. It would be hugely incompetent to then release him and still be paying a large chunk of his salary for a few years.

Why would we re-sign him only to let him go 6 months later. Just like the Bryce Gibbs debacle. Unless the Dragons were happy to pay for 80-90% of his contract.

Lawrence is a no brainer. If we can get any club anywhere in the world to take him for at least 50% of his contract it would be a good deal for us.
 
Given both are contracted til beyond this year with us, how do you guys figure it saves us any money at all.

We still have to pay their salaries for the time remaining on their contracts

Rowdy signed for 5 years at about 1.7 mil,that is a round the $330/$350k area a year.
