Dragons looking to sign Galloway, maybe lawerence - Rumour

Heard from a friend who is related to a dragons board member that they have enquired about the services of Kieth Galloway for next year. Apparently the idea was rejected at first (not sure if by Galloway or the Tigers) but we have allegedly told them they can have kiethy if they also take Chris Lawerence. However the dragons have stalled with negotiations as they are waiting to see what happens with Brett Morris who is widely tipped to be leaving to the Bulldogs.

So if Brett Morris does link up with his brother at the bulldogs we could possibly see Sauce and Rowdy playing for the Red V next year, saving us close to 1 million dollars.

Boom…Morris is a Bulldog....

Galloway and Lawrence are possibly the last of the consistently under-performing players in the team, who are always being selected in first grade on past reputation alone. If JT & co are as serious about clearing the decks and starting afresh as they seem to be, then the release of these 2 players to St George or whoever needs to happen real soon.

Please take Lawrence.
Such a drain on our cap with zero return.
Worst strike rate for a centre in the league!

Why would they release Merrin (as the rumours have it) to take on Kathy. Understand they have money problems but surely releasing a rep player for a fringe player to save money makes no sense. Or have missed something in this thread?

Even if Wests Tigers release Lawrence at a drastically cut price it would still be a good result for WT. Sometimes you have to sell at a reduced price to make a future good profit.

Geez, not sure who gets the best of that deal!

Seriously, yes - if we can find them a home elsewhere I reckon its a good move, Lawrence especially.

Mustard or no mustard.? The sauce comes free.

Only reason they'd want Lawrence is to shift Dugan back to fullback. But surely they could slot Runciman into centre?

I still don't think the two events are as closely linked as the OP suggests. Morris leaving the Dragons has been on the cards for time. If they really didn't want to play a winger that much they could have moved him to the centres. Not sure Chris Lawrence is the missing piece of their puzzle.

i used to back both of these guys and was happy we held onto them up to 2012.. but they have both been injury plagued and offered us nothing in the past few years…. like benji...

starting to think farah is trotting on down the same path..

So if the Dragons didn't sign Benji last year Morris would still be there?… Wow bad move

i doubt it's that simple. SUre the dragons could have no signed benji and used all that money on morris, but is it really worth it??

he obviously wants to play with his brother, so only a considerable amount of money would keep him with the red V. money that's really not worth it. 500k+ for a winger is what they end up paying im guessing. money better spent on your spine.

At the time it was linked, not so sure now though..

SMH is saying one more player needs to go to alleviate Dragons' salary cap issues: B Morris released, Stockwell to Newcastle, one to go.

Can't see them taking on KG or Rowdy with that kind of pressure.

And who exactly are they paying all this money. Apart from Merrin, Dugan, Widdop and Benji I can't see much money anywhere else.

I don't exactly know what will happen with K.G Or C.L.,but I'm willing to bet they stay with us for 2015…
2016 I reckon will see them both move on...

Just my opinion, can't see us buying to many marquee or topline players just yet....
