Dragons to pursue Tigers over Moltzen contract backflip

Im sorry I just can't agree.

**If Robert Lui didn't muck up, Moltzen would be in the red V.**

Anyway, this argument has been done over and over - so I will agree to disagree.

As for the impending litigation, I tip an out of court settlement will be reached.

I dunno….
Ive nothing to back this up, but imo Dousts announcement the day of our parra game is what made Humpty hold his cards, he was furious at that. Lui maybe concreted it.

they can have steve folk's but moltzen was too good to let go
get over it st george, maybe you should be focussing more on
the players u have ,and watchin ya back they seem to be all
migrating north

gday fellas

saw this hot topic and had to join the forum and put in my 2 cents

Everyone keeps saying that "a release is just a formality" after the contract is signed but this is what Humphreys said on JULY 8, immediately after the annoucement … seems very clear cut to me! ... Tauber clearly the one who screwed up and Doust an absolute moron for assuming a release was going to be a formatlity after these comments.

"The fact that the Dragons made the announcement this afternoon has come as a complete surprise to us," Humphreys said on Friday.

"We are extremely disappointed that they chose this course of action without any co-ordination or agreement with us.

"We have been in discussions with Tim Moltzen’s manager regarding his future but at this point have not formally agreed to release him from the final year of his playing contract with Wests Tigers.

"The action by the Dragons to make this announcement prematurely and without reference to us is arrogant and disrespectful to our Club and to Tim Moltzen.

"The fact that they made it on the eve of our game tonight is just plain poor form."

What happens next year moltzen is off contract and dragons got is signature on one. Do they enforce the contact just to mess with us, put him in state cup side for two years

doust is a fool.
he went ahead and announced a player signing before a written release was provided.
and has kept acting the fool.

he obviously didn't want to wait on us and tried to force our hand and it backfired.

The Dragons contract is null and void. Tim is free to do whatever he wants for next year, sign with us/someone else etc.

Welcome aboard Flapjack. You're absolutely right. There is a lot of talk about formalities and understandings but at the end of the day Doust is supposed to be running a business down there. Things have moved on from the days of handshake deals.

All these articles are nicely timed. I can't see how the Tigers themselves could be held accountable at all, he was signed with us for this year, end of story. The NRL agreed with our contract didn't they?

Apart from my first comment :unamused: This would have to be the most impressive first up comment I have seen Welcome to the team .

Doust is a douche as a CEO and not a real good businessman in the way he and his club has handled the whole affair
I wonder what Saints players think about the way the whole affair has been handled . Maybe Beau scott reaction says a great deal Rats and a sinking ship I reckon
