Drugs, sex, domestic violence: football’s cover-up

As if you would let him anywhere near 18 year olds whilst he is fighting these allegations.

Not the smartest thing they could have done given the circumstances. The outcome is obviously going to hinge on the court case with a lot of " he said, she said" innuendo being played out at the moment. With NSWPF and the NSW Medical Board also investigating Souths club doctor, Souths need to tread VERY carefully.

Something very very fishy about sam and Souths they’ve even said after all this they want to employ him as under 18 coach. Really.

Sam must have something on the club to being offered jobs so easily that his not even qualified for .

Dirty dirty club.

‘Tone deaf’: Rabbitohs announce Sam Burgess’ new job

South Sydney has been slammed after announcing Sam Burgess had a new job at the club a week after being hit with explosive allegations.

OCTOBER 9, 20203:14PM

South Sydney have come under fire after CEO Blake Solly announced Sam Burgess would be coaching one of the club’s junior sides next season.Speaking to fans in a video that was uploaded to Souths’ website, Solly answered a question from a member by saying Burgess would be in charge of the club’s Under-18 SG Ball team next season. “Sam Burgess and (ex-Souths star) John Sutton will be the coaches of our SG Ball team, which is a first,’’ Solly said.

Wow that is dumb

Nice work Souffs but Scummy Summy's previous "work experience" might be better suited to coaching the under-18's girls team, missed opportunity there!

The issue is the allegation places a Souths official at the scene. I assume all officials are aware of what is to be reported under is it a code of conduct? Was it reported to the NRL? It seems not from what Abdo has said.

I must have missed that, I thought only the Dr was at the house.

And Jason Clark as well ....

You think someone may have already been in Jason's ear about repercussions if he squeals?

Also read article in DT saying how loose players are and the cover ups.

Best comment was NRL integrity unit is a joke and only there to cover up things for NRL.

Greenburg administration was a complete joke

I don’t know why I bother with the game

No great shocks in the article all it did imo was put even more doubts about the integrity of the NRL with Turdberg in charge. The worst administration in Rugby League in my 67 years ol life,PVL needs to clean out the other frauds that still remain starting with Annesley and his empire

May have trouble getting a working with kids pass if he is guilty of assaulting his pregnant wife. Not sure but seems logical

you would think they would hold off on an appointment such as that one until his "investigation" is finalized....just another symbol of the boys club looking after each other...just the type of role model a parent would love to have their kid trained by

I'm a Magpie-Man originally and I knew about the 1909 G.F. shafting that the Tiges copped from the Bunnies. But after the merger that became a personal slight to me...
So... Down, down with South Sydney!...
P.S. heard about the story of a Tigers supporter lobbing up at a pub in the heart of Bunnies territory with a dead rabbit slung over his shoulder, think it was on the eve of the '69 G.F. Orders one beer, "and one for me mate", gesturing to the carcass. The barman suggests he get the hell out while he still can... Lol, brilliant and ballsy!

That's disgusting. Not the fact you posted it mate, thank you, but the behaviour that people have to accept as normal.

After reading that article, and knowing that all clubs are probably realistically like that, I feel sickened. I sit here in my WT jersey and feel ashamed.

I hope my daughters never ever met a footballer in person. Imagine being subjected to living like that. It'd be like married to the mob.

Can you imagine how many times someone like Bennett’s has kept silent

And the article doesn’t even mention any names so it’s still all kept quite

Low low acts from low people

I don't however get that whole "...I feel ashamed" as I sit in my Tigers jersey

Did you do something?

I didn't and I don't feel ashamed over scum acts by low iq idiots who I have nothing to do with personally.

I feel disgust for their actions, pity for the recipients and anger towards the idiots who perpetrated but I personally am not "ashamed" nor should the average NRL punter

The players involved should feel ashamed, very ashamed (but they won't) - I however will not - my level of shame is based on my own actions and of those of my family/friends etc.

I think it's also the hero worship imposed on these players.

I grew up idolising players. I still admire them for their ability to play at the supreme levels of the game but that's where it stops now. It's easy to take it personally if you're heavily invested in the player, like they are doing the wrong thing by you personally as well.

I suppose like some have said, if you're raising your kids to look up to sports stars, you're probably doing it wrong.
