Drugs, sex, domestic violence: football’s cover-up

When I first saw this topic, I was convinced that either heads will roll or it will prove to be false, but the truth will come out. Maybe the first article was extremely opinionated so may have clouded my judement.

As it turns out, it'll all be swept under the carpet with investigations over investigations, appeals and other beauraucracies.

I am super thankful to live in Australia but with so many recent topics including this one, corruption is becoming even more prominent. It's becoming sadder day by day.

Crown is their major sponsor so what do you expect from the Bunnies

“Officers from the Hume traffic and highway patrol were conducting traffic enforcement duties on the Hume Highway at Braemar.."

Yeah, but nah, just like when they randomly find a half a tonne of ice in some random blokes van who was driving normally like the 50 other million white vans on the road.

Probably training some kids at the NSW Police Academy. Pretty dumb to try something around there. Always someone out and about. Always

Yeah the one place you don't do anything outside the letter of the law on the road is within 30km either side of Goulburn

Integrity Unit investigating the Titans and the David Fifita intruder resolution. I understand from a salary cap perspective regarding an alleged payment. It was reported on Ch10 News.

The bloke is a mess.

He needs help before he kills himself or someone else.

This sums it up in a nutshell CB. Easy to bag the bloke but I have no doubt he has a few 'enablers' around him who should have stepped up to do the right thing but always look the other way.

There's certainly some personal accountability, but when they are in that space sometimes they need a wise word or two to snap out of it.

Its a really big problem with some sports stars ...they simply believe they are above anything ..especially when their every need is pandered to

I think it is also a personality type, not just limited to sports stars. I think sports stars are more likely to get away with it because there are probably hangers on who are there for the ride.

I work with a bloke who is one of those people where it's never his fault. His life is in the toilet at the moment and everything is directly as a result of his behaviour and he will not accept responsibility. Those types of people just exist for some reason.

Yes Hap, I can see how easily the system can nurture the development of some players who haven’t quite emotionally developed into adulthood. The superlatives coming from media, friends, peers and others can appear to be fully supported by the many thousands of fans who turn up to cheer them on. The occasional misdemeanour is overlooked by those who seek to show favour. For some there’s no need to evolve into the comparatively dull life of adult thinking. But for those who have gone through the wringer and survived, there should be an opportunity for them to pass on their valuable knowledge to those who are about to make the same mistakes?

I got pulled over once in Goulburn when I entered the town at about midnight. The cop pulled me over on spec, simply because there aren't many cars on the road at that time of night and he was a bit suss. He actually followed me a few blocks and because there aren't many cars, I clocked him immediately and made extra care with my driving.

I had just driven in from Sydney. There was no issue and he didn't keep me long, but I've never been tailed by a police car in Sydney for any reason.

As you say, bit of a police state down there.

The town basically exists to support the prison and train the states police force. Always on my best behaviour when travelling through or visiting there.

Yep, funny that? Who would have thought high security also exists outside the walls of high security goals? ?

Then you have never been an 18yo in an RX2 with a bridgeported 13B with 4" exhaust then.

Nope, it was a Mazda 3 back then. I didn't pick up my Bridgeported RX2 until I was 41.

Along the Federal highway heading back to Canberra during the single lane days I overtook four cars on a straight stretch doing 80klm in a 100klm zone in my RX2 Coupe with a mildport 12A built by Reliance with Extractors, sports exhaust etc. One was an ACT Police car. As soon as I got across the border I was pulled over. My car was perfectly fine and just passed rego so they had to leave me alone.

His kids are the same age as mine. Feel so sorry for them. For that reason I can't find this funny at all.
He's an idiot who had an argument with this father inlaw, who said I'll finish you like I did the rudd government.
Let's be honest there is no winners...it is sad.
