Honestly I doubt this was done because Bankwest is eels home ground - probably was done so they can fit more people into the joint. The Easter Monday game sells out every year

Of course

So four home grounds in Sydney? Laughable.

It maybe laughable but playing our home game against parra in parra was beyond crazy

Feels like we're scared.

Why on earth would you give a rival an advantage, particularly one who should have been drowned at birth

Why wouldn't you give yourself an advantage and have one home ground?

Are Home Grounds an advantage in the Modern game though...some examples ..Newcastle in the last 5 years have had 1 home ground and basically sucked..no advantage..Manly at Fortress Dung Heap is certainly not what it used to be.....Melbourne played basically all there games on the Sunny Coast last season and killed it as usual..

If you are good enough the Ground is not going to help that much..in recent times the myth that Leichhardt has a 10-12pt advantage to Wests Tigers hasn't really helped..

And how many premiers have had 4 home ground?

I don't think it matters, we are a JV club with fans scattered all over Sydney, it makes sense to me and the players will play anywhere.
If they chose one HG, it wouldn't be LO, and that would be a real shame.
You don't lose because of home ground, you lose because you weren't good enough.

I get the sentiment on here that we have too many home grounds but I think claiming the Easter clash adds another home ground is being a bit fickle.
It’s a good business decision as we could attract up to 50000 through the gates and it’s a good football decision as we get to play eels away from parramatta.
I too am hoping we make a decision to play out of one ground but I’m not going to blindly crucify the club for every decision it makes. To me, this decision makes good sense

Pretty sure I was at ANZ for this game on Easter Monday about 5 or 6 years ago and we had about 55,000 there.

Wankhede Stadium

Oh wow Kid, I never realised you were that far away. I hope you get there one day mate, but Im worried you would be underwhelmed, particularly compared to something like Wankhede Stadium.

For a starter, these days max crowd would probably be around 15K and at that number its starting to get uncomfortable. On the hill which is probably something like 40% of the crowd, on a big day, it is standing only if you want to have a chance of seeing the action or alternatively Ive been there when the whole crowd is doing this thing where you are trying to sit so the people behind can see but as soon as anything happens everyone is up anyway.

I also wouldnt describe the atmosphere as like a massive "pumping" crowd experience. Its more like a massive crowded picnic for want of a better description. Most are there for a shared love of the Tigers and understanding and accepting of the shortcomings of the ground and just enjoying the experience.

Hard to put it words but I'd worry you would be underwhelmed. For me and Im sure many others nostalgia is a massive part of it including the walk to the ground etc.

How about others (lovers and haters) try to put it into words for Kazoo?

I have only been on the hill once or twice, I think the seats I have are the best seats anywhere in football. As I said earlier concourse, in the bay next to the players enclosure right behind the bench.

On a big day, when the crowd is standing on the concrete between the concourse and the grandstand is the days I feel the old girl is at her best and has an intimidating feel.

I remember the souths game in 2005 with the house full sign
You are so close to the action

My most memorable game was in the last game ever as Balmain, unbelievable heavy rain (I think) versus Parra. Never been so wet but a great atmosphere.

that was good We got beat but great atmosphere.
First game was against Penrith 1988 Ellery Hanley was sensational in that game Elias also got hammered in great tackle too
they closed the gates that day

I was there - I think it was Brad Izzard that smashed him

Who is this club and what have you done with the old management.

I don't care if its because of commercial or "home ground" reasons, the outcome is great. Bankwest is Parramatta stadium. Now, please win or all our parra mates will be telling us they could pay wests on the moon and still win.

Cough....Leichhardt

(I know the facilities like corporate stuff is substandard, but we do get a home ground vibe there)

Hasn’t recently translated into results though. So not much of an advantage.

Without trawling through stats (someone will if Im wrong), Leichhardt is our most successful ground (best win/loss) so that is an advantage. IF your team is somewhere between rubbish and average, no ground is going to translate to >50%. It is certainly (particularly in the members seats) the best atmosphere for fans and players.

Where abouts do you sit mate?

Last row before the fence in the "concourse" section, near 40m line south of tunnel.

Lol, you must be right near me, in the bay next to the player enclosure?

L or R side of tunnel, facing the playing field Cochise?

Right side.

I usually stand at the fence on the concourse behind your bay. Depending on what time we get there (2 sons as well).

Im in the second back row, I've probably pushed past you heaps of times lol

You probably knocked me over a few times.

As I said to 5051, say hello if you see me. I'm the guy with the beard, you will know me when you see me lol

I've got a white mustache and goatee - sure you won't miss me either Mate!

Right, now that I got your descriptions,Im gunna stalk you 2 blokes...
Well it would be unfair if I didnt give you my description so you wouldnt be looking over your shoulders all the time...
TT..tall,dark,handsome with that movie star look and physique of the 'ROCK'....and I will probably have a hot dog in one hand and a beer in the other...hahaha:grin:

Stadium Australia to host 2021 Easter Monday clash

Wests Tigers have today confirmed that the club’s Easter Monday home game against the Parramatta Eels will be played at Stadium Australia in 2021.

The annual fixture, which sees Wests Tigers face off against their Sydney rivals, was originally scheduled to be played at Bankwest Stadium in Round 4.

Wests Tigers Members who have Bankwest Stadium access as part of their 2021 Membership will be afforded access to the game, with further information around the ticket redemption process to come closer to the date.

Tickets for the Easter Monday match will go on sale in the near future with Wests Tigers Members set to receive priority purchase as a Wests Tigers home game.

Yessss

Bankwest is dead ☠️

If both teams are travelling well or even if WT'S are winning games and there's no restriction on numbers (Covid) should get in excess 50000

Stadium Australia, formerly known as ANZ Stadium, is the perfect venue for our block buster games until something better comes along, what makes a block buster game
WINNING.
Win and they will come
Bankwest is a fine venue but if you are an older person and are seated in the higher area of the stands it can be quiet an effort getting up and down the narrow rows of seats and the stairs.
We should not forget our heartlands and as a minimum of at least two home games a seasons should be allocated to those venues as well as our Home country game .Thats 5 out of 12 home games at a smaller venues to cater for 20K crowd
Block Buster games Parramatta,Penrith,Souffs,Warriors(for the Sydney kiwis) St George,Roosters & Bulldogs

Not so much block buster due to limited away supporters Canberra, Manly,Broncos,Newcastle,Storm,Titans,Cowboys & Cronulla
We should wherever possible make it difficult for out of town/state teams to travel as far as possible for the games

Bankwest is a remakable venue, however it offers our club zero advantage.

IN TRUTH we have no home ground advantage for any games we play.
