Tigers Watch - Day One

Our spies at the Roosters home ground, the Sydney Football Stadium, caught Tigers captain Robbie Farah in the cafe on day one of Tigers Watch.

Here for the NRL's Captain's Call, the Tigers star was spotted sipping coffee with Jamie Lyon before being caught by Roosters captain Braith Anasta.

Later in the day a Tigers employee was found lurking around the Roosters office before being removed by security. It is believed he was trying to sneak into a coaches meeting.

Brian Smith may or may not have installed CCTV camera's in varied places around the SFS as the Tigers attempt to claim the ground as their own.

Sydney Roosters Online will keep you up to date with what the Tigers are doing over the next week as we ensure that we fortify OUR home ground in preparation for the big final this Saturday night.

Kick off is at 6.30pm. Tickets are on sale to the public from Tuesday, 7 September through Ticketek.

We have a master coach with 600+ games under his belt , do you think he needs to resort these tactics ? NO ..But you have to love the media , otherwise life will be too boring without gossip..

Ah but you see the big story is now about the security issues and the press are less interested in individual players. Maybe this is a Sheens master coach tactic.

I knew they were joking. I named the thread "Roosters being smartarses". I don't know why it was changed.

No sign of the Wests Tigers intruders lurking at Roosters HQ today but we did spot some unusual activity around the main entrances of the stadium.

In what could only be described as a serious planning meeting, macho looking security staff were staking out the potential lookout points around the stadium, using advertising hording to block peepholes in gates and walls around the ground.

The Tigers we worried Roosters officials would be interested in spying on their training sessions but we hear the Tigers won’t actually have a training run on the field until late this week.

All clear on the Tigers front at Roosters HQ today as the NRL team take the day off before stepping up their preparations for Saturday night’s game.

Coach of the Year Brian Smith along with Captain of the Year Braith Anasta and Dally M Medal winner Todd Carney stopped by to chat with media before taking off for the day.

But not before they helped Roosters staff remove advertising hoarding that had been placed over peepholes around the stadium by Tigers security contractors.

The Tigers will have their first training session at the Sydney Football Stadium on Friday and be assured Roosters Online will be hiding somewhere in the stadium to give all Roosters fans the low down on their movements.

The intruders will be at the Sydney Football Stadium tomorrow to use the facilities and Roosters Online is going to get a spot in the stadium now to spy on their closed session.

This will be the first and final time they use the Roosters home ground to train on before Saturday’s match, making everyone at HQ confused as to what all their fuss was about.

The Roosters NRL side had no such dramas today, taking their session offsite as they prepare to beat the merger club for third time this season.

Tune in tomorrow to get all the latest from Tiger watch as they try their best to keep Roosters Online out of the closed training session.

gees thats petty. Do you think this would be used as motivation? or would sheens just ignore it?

Spy wars hot up Roosters-Tigers clash
Dean Ritchie From: The Daily Telegraph September 10, 2010 12:00AM

SYDNEY Football Stadium security will today be on high alert when rivals Wests Tigers and Sydney Roosters come within metres of one another before tomorrow night's explosive semi-final at the Moore Park arena.

The two teams will train just 200 metres apart this morning - the Tigers at the SFS, the Roosters across the road in Moore Park - as tension between the two combatants escalates.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal that a security guard will be placed on the SFS Members Entrance when Wests Tigers train at 11am to prevent any attempted spying missions.

"There are 150 cameras around the SFS and SCG precinct," said an SFS insider.

"Our central control room will be monitoring all people inside and outside the SFS. "If anyone breaches those security lines, they will be pounced upon.

"These cameras are monitored 24/7.

"Even if someone wanted to gain entry through the Swans offices near the Brewongle Stand, they will be picked up. This applies to both teams." Wests Tigers will host their home final at the SFS, despite it being the Roosters' permanent home ground.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal that today:

* WESTS Tigers coach Tim Sheens will hold a press conference in the SFS forecourt at 9.30am, just 100m from the Roosters' offices.

* The Tigers will hold a closed session at the SFS starting at 10am, just 20m from the Roosters' offices.

* The Roosters will hold a media session at Moore Park at 10.30am and then a full training session.

* Wests Tigers will today lunch at the SFS cafe.

Tigers life member and former board member Benny Elias was certain the Roosters might try and watch the Tigers train.

"It's the most important game of the year, why wouldn't they want to get a look at us training?" Elias said. "If you can get an edge, you do your best.

"We just have to stay one step ahead. That means full security.

"It is our home ground, so they can stay off our territory. It has to be a complete shut-out with no prying eyes."

Roosters chief executive Steve Noyce said his club would not alter its daily - and successful - routine.

"It is an unusual situation," Noyce said.

"It's got to be business as usual for us. We can't be distracted by any stray Wests Tigers players wandering around."

Asked if he had a problem training within 100m of Wests Tigers, Noyce said: "No, they are welcome to come and watch."

Then asked would his coaching staff watch the Tigers train, Noyce said: "It would be nice to catch up with my old mate 'Skando' [John Skandalis]."

The two clubs have been playing mind games with each other since the Tigers announced they would be kicking the Sydney Roosters out of the Sydney Football Stadium for the week leading into the finals series.
