Eddie Pettybourne

Seeya Eddie, have done nothing, been very disappointing to say the least. Surely we aren't gonna be paying any of his contract while he is in ESL?

Bloody hope not.

Pettybourne is no big loss. At first I thought he may have been a decent buy for us, but he's gotten worse as the season has gone on and his defence is atrocious. Given we have some decent backrow talent coming through the grades, I'd rather see the likes of Lovett and even Farlow given a go. Pettybourne was signed for 3 years too on a better deal than what he had at Souths, so this may provide a bit more cash to lock up some junior talent.

Immediate release would have been better but this is still good news.

Another ex that we are most probably be going to supplement his salary whilst on an overseas holiday for a couple of years. Another gift from our former leader.

You might be onto something there Willow. I believe Mayer did say something along the lines of "we are looking to lock up Lovett and Santi." Think it was mentioned in his Q & A. They may very well be given top 25 contracts next year.

Its a shame he never played to potential. When we signed him he was going very well and had great impact. Right now though he is dead weight.
 
He's rubbish.
Looks hectic though.
No loss at all, lets get some new faces in the team and re-sign Simona for ever.

EP too small?! are you high, he is a wrecking ball…not the tallest? yes but he is thick as. personally i was excited to see pettybourne signed this year but he has been dreadful. He was great at souths every season since debut, charged at the line and bent it back - he was the type of player we needed but sadly he couldn't recapture that form. I like Thompson he is an effort runner, id hold onto him. BMM has too much potential to ship off, id give him till 2015 then cut him loose if he isn't firing. Anasta is fine to stay for mine, whole hearted performer like fulton, let him see out his contract next year.

People requiring immediate cutting:

MOLTZEN!!!! (IMO perhaps the worst player to ever play for WT, he and fitzhenry should form a club)
Tuquiri - no use, old and last season even when he was not injured he was dreadful. 2011 = lost us the semi against warriors, 2010 was great
Utai - was a great purchase on a 50k contract...thats how it should have remained, again no use for him merely taking up cap space
Ayshford - let the sharks have him, holding back more talented players in the form of simo, koro, nofo and big t

Reddy has been excellent this year but he is not the type of player you win premierships with, should be commended for his services but let him finish off his contract this year.

AND ALAS WE HAVE AN EXTRA 1MIL FOR THE CAP...to 1.3/4mil with pettybourne gone

He was never happy here & can't stand the club …..probably wished he could leave ASAP as well .he thinks the club is a basket case with the 2 factions at odds with each other...
