Edwards

This team has been crying out for a "hit and stick" defender. A few of us have been preying for Edwards to get a start to fill this void. Well what an absolute let down. Worst club debut we have ever had. Hit and stick? Lol…never seen a guy drop off so many tackles. Not to mention dropping the ball with his first carry. Im sure JT hooked him.

Oh well, instead of Sue for Lovett we will see Sue for Edwards.

He hit hard and tried but you could see he was rusty as an old doorhinge (same colour hair too).

Yeah he fell off heaps of tackles and worse was that he wasn't defending the same structure as those around him. He stepped out of the line to crack a Storm player who passed and his co defender was sliding. Asofa-Solomona galloped into the gap with ease.

Would have preferred to see Griffin out there.

Yes he was very poor. On the plus side I thought Lovett was really good today.

I agree Lovett looked reasonably strong. He's just so one dimensional though. Gets the ball in any situatuon and just runs straight. Needs to think more. But physically he was strong today.

For someone hailed as a primary tackler he missed a few today
Most ineffective when he tackled too

Lets just put it to being rusty after such a long time out of FG

He looks worse because Milone had a better game

Another bargain basement plodder …

It would appear so, JT bought this guy, so he will have to play him and hope he gets better, although once you are in the side it is only injury that gets you out, so he will be there next week.

Poor debut by Edwards, run only 36m from 6 runs, made 13 tackles but missed 3, poor performance by a player we expected to bring exemplary tackling to WT :frowning:

So i take it the guy who played his first 1st Grade game in 16 months didnt display SOO form and is now in the Plodder basket….despite the majority of the forum excited about his signing wondering why he hadnt been given a run...

Wouldn't put him in the plodder basket just yet. Obviously very rusty considering the amount of time he's missed over the last 12 months or so.

Geoff no one said anything about State of Origin form.

He couldnt get his body into a position on a number of occasions to attempt anything more than ankle high tackles and dropped off all of them. On the odd occasion his body positioning was good he hit well, but that doesnt excuse the fact he was well off the pace even after a number of State Cup game under his belt. Simply not good enough for a seasoned first grader.

Funny how when it was all broke down to brass tacks, Bucky was better than both Edwards and Felise, and Milone was better than Aldo Carr.

I will admit that given the same opportunity, Aldo Carr may at least equal Milones lofty heights, but he isnt a special yet either.

Well I don't see any problem, after all , Edwards should be given 40 or so games so that he can eventually show us just how much potential can be unlocked. No matter how bad he went today
Isn't that the way we work??
