OFFICIAL Elijah Taylor [Discussion]

[Moh]

Immediate impact, great pick up.

Mentioned this in the live game thread, but reminds me of what Toddy Payten used to do for us in attack - and I love that, especially since he's just as brilliant in defense. Should (hopefully) be even better to watch when Teddy is back.

[ricksen]

Watch his work in the tackle - continually putting blokes on their back, turning them around to face their own try line and so forth. Makes a nice change to have someone that wins the wrestle.

[Masterton]

Happy to see him do some of the play making to see pressure taken off Moses, Brooks and Ted. This was supposed to be Sironens role.

Which begs the question, why does Sirro not do it? His dad was firing shots at Jason Taylor, but Elijah has done more ball-playing in 2 weeks than Sirro has done in the last year. It's also worth noting that Woodsy had 4 offloads this week.

[Winnipeg]

The powers that be obviously read my offloads thread after last week

(Though nobody else did  )

What a breath of fresh air.

This guy is all class….well spoken, respectful young man, nothing is any trouble and is very humbled.

Has Captain written all over him.

Has tightened our ruck, has great line speed in Defence, is one of the 1st ones back in kick returns and ready for a hit up.
Sirro isn't required anymore doesn't offer nothing that Elijah does.....he didn't offer much to begin with ( Sirro).

Fingers crossed you have found a home for many years to come.

In only three games, Elijah Taylor has proven himself to be an amazing player. Already he is central in our attacking structures. His slick skills continually put the halves in space, giving them time to show their wares.

What an outstanding recruitment. We got lucky!

[stryker]

Yep no doubt. He was very good tonight.

All the above as well as 40+ tackles in the middle

[GNR4LIFE]

Always been a massive fan. invaluable for us now. Needs to be locked up, along with JAC. Star in the making that kid.

[Masterton]

He's made a massive difference to out halves.

[Guest]

He has been great with his defence and passing game and with Sue off the bench tonight, we had great impact in the middle of the match. He has really value added to our pack.

[Pierre_M7]

He's added another dimension to our attack. I love it, needs to be re signed asap !!

[InBenjiWeTrust]

Taylor is everything Sironen promised and never delivered. Very good defence player, runs great lines, plays ball quickly, with JAC our best buy this season.

[Regan]

IF you look back at his games this is the first time he has played like this at Penrith he was a tackling machine also played the same way at the warriors …...... so is Taylor a master coach

[vlad]

Tough too
That was a huge hit he copped but he dusted himself off & kept going
Inspirational effort

[stevetiger]

I never really watched him but he is a great player. He does so many things out there and gives the team a lot more options.

Maybe in a team with a lot of skill he wouldn't make such a difference but for our team with a pack of forwards who are willing but not really game breakers he makes a huge difference.

[innsaneink]

Quite impressive
Never seen a player have such an immediate impact at WTs like he has

[Chipofftheoldblock]

Taylor has exceed my expectations of him.
I always thought he was very one dimensional player- just a hard grafter who tackle his butt off.
However he and the coaching staff have develop a nice variation to the game plan and relieving a little bit of pressure of Brooks and Moses and playing a middle link similar to how a lock played back in the day with that roving play and little bit of skill (Jason Smith like).
Hoping that Laurence's contract restructure has freed up some money to get a decent centre and another edge backrower.

[Geo]

Missing link…see what I did...

Massive again 3 games in...

For a forward he's always been more of a ball distributor than a metre eater in attack but yeah, he seems to have been made (or made himself) a key part of the general attacking structure in a way he has not been used before.
