Always have to be negative about something
He's a hard-working bloke who puts in the hard yards and tidies up the defense. He's our best wrestler and a leader of the pack. He is very effective. Simple.

I bet you if we signed the whole Australian team there would be some people on here that would have a negative comment about, even if we went through a season as un-defeated premiers.
:brick:

X 2 for both comments.

Great buy for the club.

Will set great standards on and off the field for everyone.

Not a superstar but a great leader.

That's what we need.

Not immature sooks

I'm glad he' re-signed but 3 years is maybe too long. He's already been pushed out of lock by Eisenhuth and he's less effective in the back row as he doesn't pose much threat as a runner.

Our back row is still a massive problem for next year, half a dozen workers and no one that can break the line….

He's certainly up there for captain and a top person to have in the squad though

I think Taylor starting in 2nd row is more a result of lack of other options than Eisenhuth being better than him. With Lawrence, McQueen and Aloiai all fit at the beginning of next year, I expect we'll see ET back at lock.

I think lock is his best position but if we have a bunch of fit players Ivan is going to have problems picking the team.

I think signing him for 3 years is a good move. We can sign others that complement him. I think him for 3 years is a much better idea than McQueen for the same time.

We are getting there, Taylor just needs more help so he's not making 40-50 tackles per game. Hooth and Twal are helping sure-up the middle and Taylor is better used on the edge.

No his hitups are not going to be gangbusting charges but he is smart and he does take some good options in attack.

Did he do anything special? Hardly anyone did today but ET was there when it counted, made a lot of covering tackles, many 1-1.

He's a good all-around footballer and I don't see why you'd not want him to stay at the club, for all the lack of depth we have. ET fits well into a well-balanced side, something we still don't have yet.

There's a reason he's making that many tackles - He's being targeted because he doesn't hurt anyone….

He's slow and doesn't make many meters - Handy with the ball in hand yes, But is it enough to warrant his 500 a year price tag?

There's a reason we've improved of late and it's not because of ET.

Are you looking at the right player? Been to Specsavers lately? ET almost every tackle has the opposition player on their back, with his head pinning their body on the ground long enough to get our D organised.
Mathew Elliott rates his the third best lock in the NRL, and I suppose Elliott has a lot more experience than both you and myself.

Exactly so, and he's watching the ref's. How many times have I seen him holding an opponent down in the tackle, and see his hands fly up at the last minute, expecting him to get pinged. But he doesn't.

ABSOLUTELY. I am always amazed at the amount of wrestling, delaying he gets away with…all the time! In each tackle he's all over them. I dont understand why some people want everyone to be papali trying to bust the line. This guy is an amazing defender, has a good vision of the game and competes like his life depends on it. I dont understand why people say "he might not be the best footballer". Maybe if you just look at the stats but if you actually watch the game you see how he puts people into good position and takes the juice out of the opposing attack. Really happy.

He seems to be such a thoughtful and reflective type of guy; humble but determined. He is confident in his ability and what it can bring to the team. I am so pleased that he has found a home that respects him and appreciates him at the Tigers. Good luck to him and his family.

Let's not advertise it.

The dumbheads at the NRL might catch on and screw us like they do at every other opportunity

Wonderful news, has really been great for the team on and off the park.

Has played with injury later part of the season, which I think has impacted on parts of his game, but still put in good performances.

Agree with you 100% - Also Tigerbill, how many times is he the third player into the tackle?
Sure there are 2 others, but they have been dragged at least another 5 metres (most times more) before ET hits their legs and they go down like a bag of s–-. I wish a few more would do the same thing and give the guy a break.

Great signing, someone earlier said he is like Liam Fulton - I agree, but only better.

I really hope this gives him the best support available for his little girl also. Shows the guys character even more to put on the brave face he has when going through that this year. My little guy went through special care and we're in the monitoring phase too. It's tough. Always on your mind.

Fingers crossed the Tigers management will show their true colors here and give the best support to his family that they can, in addition to the paycheck.

One word to describe ET (IMO) is Humble

He hasnt forgotten his beginnings, and no one should

On of few NRL players who still have their feet grounded

With ET and Reynolds in the 2018 team you know we will be competing every minute of the game.
Will be interesting to see where Ivan plays him. I'm guess RHS second row , with some stints at DH.

Great man, I really respect ET.

Thanks WTs, this is one contract Im actually happy with.

Gets my vote for Club Captain

Elijah playing the first 25 minutes at hooker before Liddle comes on, then Taylor comes back on at lock for Eisenhuth at the 60 minute mark. I can see that working. A starting middle of Packer, Taylor, Matulino and Eisenhuth, and a finishing middle of Packer,Liddle, Matulino and Taylor. That leaves Twal with Sue or Grant to play the period around half time.

Taylor plays 45-50 minutes in the middle. Eiso plays 55-60 mins and Liddle plays 55 minutes after missing the early exchanges.
