Good thread!

What I can hardly believe is the late-game composure from Tigers, in addition to the defence. I am no longer freaking out when teams are camped on our line, nor do I think the game is blown so long as there are a few mins left.

Rd 1 attacking Easts with a few mins left, I was praying to the God Of Football "please please please" and whaddya know we score AND kick the conversion.

Thought to myself "that's it, your single football miracle wish for 2018 has been used up".

But lo, Week 2 another "please please please" and we get up again. Didnt work for Broncos but I was astounded we even got back to 7-7.

Then yesterday, wondering how we'd claw back 10-6, but actually we finished fairly over the top of Melb and almost scored twice before we actually did. Then to take the next set and drive into FG and actually slot it - amazing, I was just so proud of how composed and professional the entire unit was.

Melb threw plenty at us late but we just kept turning up, we are a true 80 minutes team in most games. I don't think even the best WT sides have been so resolute for 80 mins, so I am just so proud and honestly amazed.

For example, Packerlino dont pile on the metres like Woods used to, but you can see a different impact in pure physicality and defence, even Nelson A-S was snuffed put to the point of 3 to 4 handling errors. And the metres are spread out amongst all the forwards, no one person taking a million hitups. We are getting on top of most other forward packs and it makes the late-game easier for us.

If we could just have one long-distance threat like an Addo-Carr, we'd not just be a threat, we might actually be a dominant force. Melb showed we defn lack for pace.

I agree with what you are all saying in your posts about the Wests Tigers. They are the real deal this season aren't they !

Having said that I hope they can keep up the fantastic job they are doing for the rest of the season, but we will have to expect a few losses.
Great work Wests Tigers

My wife just doesn't get my passion for my Tigers.
She says I love them more than I love her (not quite right) but not far off.

x2…

If I'm not at a game and watching on TV like yesterday ..the better half tries to start a convo..I'm like can't you see WESTS Tigers are on the tele...

Fortunately mine came from a football mad family

Mine went to do the grocery shopping just before kick off and came back with about 20 minutes left , Princess asked why I didn't have to come out and bring groceries in , mum replied the WT's are playing

I put the groceries away , I can still see the TV from the kitchen , one day the milk will be in the cupboard , soap in the freezer , vegetables in with the chemicals

Yeah when my wife starts a conversation I reply ‘the footys on’
Or

Or

Or

Well I started following Wests Magpies in 1948, when my Dad took me to Pratten Park to watch them. I have been a Magpie/Tigers supporter ever since. When I met my wife-to-be, I found her uncle and cousin both played first grade for them. Naturally our two sons had no option but to be Magpie/Wests supporters, if they wanted to stay at home.
Through all of the recent bad years I had pleaded for the Club management to be sacked and to get some REAL managers. For me the change all started with the appointment of Marina Go as the Board Chair and then the appointments of Justin Pascoe and Ivan Cleary.
At my age, these days I find it nerve-wracking watching the game, so I IQ the game and watch it later. The results for yesterday were brilliant with the Magpies winning 32-0 and the Tigers 11-10 win over the Storm. I happened to see the game with about four minutes to go with the 11-10 lead. It was real nail-biting time followed by exhilarating relief at full time.

There's always time for the Mrs when Matty Johns is on. His show is appalling imo.

It’s a great feeling supporting a club who is playing well. Haven’t had that in a while (years). This year I haven’t been getting the usual “so… how about the tigers on the weekend? Unlucky”. Now it’s all “mate your tigers are smashing it”. I get excited talking about footy again at work.

My girlfriend has adopted my passion for the Tigers. Still supports Broncos first though :unamused:

100% spot on.
They seem to have thought out every possible scenario nothing fazes them. Don't think Cleary looks at stats much. As you said Packer takes on key opposition forwards Lawrence key play makers dirty runs and hole runs. They have come from behind nearly every game and you can sense a noticeable lift in tempo with around 12 minutes to go.
Even Kev has become the firemen in defence out wide.

I'm 19\. My old man is originally a Pies supporter but I don't remember Wests Magpies or Balmain, Wests Tigers is all I know. They've broken my heart and made me cry tears of joy a few too many times (most recently the roosters game) but it'll never change.

To see us have a balanced team that is so defensively strong and have so much pride in the jersey is incredible to watch. I know I don't have the history as some of you but bloody hell I'm proud of what we've achieved thus far. How good is it to go through all the downs that we did to stick by your team and see them perform the way they are now. Quite incredible.

Agree. How anyone finds Fletcher and Hindmarsh funny boggles my mind. Fletcher has the delivery of Steady Eddy.

Good on you JR. Hopefully lots of ups rather than downs over the next few years. My 19 year old is hooked as well. Often he asks me why I couldn’t have been a storm supporter!!

I was surprisingly calm yesterday.

Wifey asked me when the Tigers played and I told her 5:00pm so I went out and mowed. Finished right on 5:00, went inside to listen on the radio or follow on this forum and saw the fulltime score.

OK, so it was 5:00pm NZ time. Dope.

Yeah I was very calm too unusually… Not having any $$$ riding helped that I think

My Family & i all follow the Wests Tigers & am so proud of the Players as everyone on here seems to be, Just hope they keep it up. Reading some of the comments here make me shed a tear, Love the Tigers & their loyal supporters.

I, like a lot on here, have been watching footy since the 70's, This team is like none other, they are playing so far above themselves, with so much belief and calmness, that I am truly amazed, surprised, proud and I have never been so stunned by the results. I hope it continues and they create something truly special and something that will survive into the future.
My partner asked me why I had bruises on my knees, it's because I've been spending so my time on my knees in front of the tv when not at the games.
