End of season expectation

Going through the draw for the remainder of the season and things don't look great. The spoon remains a distinct possibility. I think we need to win 6 or 7 games to avoid it, at best I think we can win 10 or 11 games and that means beating a couple of the top sides. Only changes to the top eight would be Broncos in and possibly Warriors with 2 of Cowboys, Eels and Raiders missing out. Whoever survives the mounting injury tolls best will be the successful teams.

I thought you were crazy thinking we can win as high as 10 or 11 games at best. But looking at the draw, I see 12 winnable games out of our remaining 18. Not saying we'll win them, just that they are "winnable" based on those teams current form, injuries to key players, coaching dramas, trash rosters, etc.

The games that are winnable in my opinion are as follows:

Eagles - Winnable
Panthers - Lose
Dragons - Winnable
Rabbitohs - Lose
Cowboys - Winnable
Raiders - Winnable
Titans - Winnable
Storm - Lose
Cowboys - Winnable
Knights - Winnable
Sharks - Lose
Dragons - Winnable
Rabbitohs - Lose
Raiders - Winnable
Warriors - Winnable
Dolphins - Winnable
Roosters - Lose
Sea Eagles - Winnable

I feel that if 12 of these games are winnable, we'll only actually win around half that amount by seasons end.

For a successful 2023 it was imperative we got off to a good start as the first 5 games were very winnable.
We will be lucky if we are 2-12 after 14 rounds....The spoon in 2023 is a certainty . I've accepted this and am at peace when we now lose...

I'm never at peace with any loss.
I feel my own anxiety and despair at losing.
Then ther's my family and friends who support the team - I feel connected to them immensely.
Then, beyond me, there's the players, and their efforts. Their disappointment.
And the coaching staff and their efforts - no one prepares to lose intentionally.
And you have to look just inside our own WTF - any post match after a loss is tragic.
The passion of us all for a truly common goal says everything.
So, peace is a rare footy place.

I hate losing but i can accept it when we play to our ability. This season we have not even gone close to playing to the level the roster should be playing to,I put this down to poor preparation and coaching.I see nothing to indicate this is going to change and the spoon is near certain imho.I only hope we win a game or 2 to at least get a few points.
The season unfortunately has gone the way i expected but hoped would not happen. We need a decent organising half and a coach who is not still living in the past thinking what worked 2 decades ago is still viable, defence wins games and titles and has done for nearly all rugby league history.

I disagree. I think the forwards and the outside backs for the most part have played at or above expectations. Execution inside the opp 20 has cost us big time. Two players are fundamentally responsible for that.

Nearly all my criticism is directed at the coach and the style of play he is enforcing on the team especially when we have playmakers who are incapable of using it.I certainly agree about the 2 players who are both supposedly playmakers which they will never be

After our start unless we break the poor run very soon I see maybe 6 wins , maybe , I think we will not buy anyone this season as well I think it may be wing it and see same as last years waste of time , these guys should be on the phone to players managers saying
simple
im looking for a 7 and a centre , hook us up we have the cash and first grade spots also , we have Nofo up for A swap or trade deal as well

I would make the Souths games winnable and the warriors and titans certain losses, when do we EVER beat those sides

I dunno the last time a team went thru a season winless... I think Roosters 60s were pretty bad
If you think getting the spoons bad, getting it with only points from byes would be humiliating

Wow!
I really expected more from this group of players and the coaching staff so they must take full responsibility for this situation we are in.

With the roster we have there is no way we should be without a win after 6 rounds.

Also the crisis around the halves is Sheens doing. Releasing Hastings and Madden with full reliance on only Brooks and big D ….. I just don’t get it.

For me 2023 season is well and truly down the you know what and we’ll be lucky to attract any player with quality to play with what we are offering.

That's also how Sheens is referred to around the Churchill Manor.
