End of season expectation

I can’t see a win in us right now and with injuries and a revolving backline there is no stability or combinations going on. Not sure what plays were being practised while Bateman was waiting to arrive but they’re not evident. The spoon and 17th place is all ours I feel.

If we don't get the spoon I'd be astounded.

In all seriousness to me a good season would consist of the following:-

1. Sorting out our spine longer term.
2. Developing some good outside backs.
3. Seeing our pack get over the top of some other teams.

I think Tigers will improve and get some good wins. After this start, it might not be enough to avoid the spoon, but I have a lot of confidence in this pack. We may become a bit like Canberra was when they were strong, where a lot of attack is generated in quality forwards.

Wow!
I really expected more from this group of players and the coaching staff so they must take full responsibility for this situation we are in.

With the roster we have there is no way we should be without a win after 6 rounds.

Also the crisis around the halves is Sheens doing. Releasing Hastings and Madden with full reliance on only Brooks and big D ….. I just don’t get it.

For me 2023 season is well and truly down the you know what and we’ll be lucky to attract any player with quality to play with what we are offering.
Something like releasing Maguire without a replacement? No confidence in Sheens. Expecting a spoon. I'd like to get with the more optimistic on here and see 12 wins but, yeh, nah. Maybe 2028 post Sheens and Benji. This teams management needs a rocket

Going through the draw for the remainder of the season and things don't look great. The spoon remains a distinct possibility. I think we need to win 6 or 7 games to avoid it, at best I think we can win 10 or 11 games and that means beating a couple of the top sides. Only changes to the top eight would be Broncos in and possibly Warriors with 2 of Cowboys, Eels and Raiders missing out. Whoever survives the mounting injury tolls best will be the successful teams.
Including for and against we are three games behind as it stands. Who would we beat by the end of the year?

Having not watched more than the highlights of the Parra match, I can only include thoughts on that match based on those and the opinion of others.

Though still remaining winless, I remain more confident than at the same point last year. Go the tigees.

I predict we don’t get the spoon.
I think the Phins will fall off a cliff soon due to injuries, suspensions and other clubs working them out.
They took an 8 point lead into halftime here and got done 30 blot in the second half.

I remain more confident than at the same point last year

This is a good point.

I feel we are building. The heartbreaker put on a show last week and if that continues we'll score some more ripping tries. Staines going to fullback was a no brainer but it took a while to get there. He adds plenty. Bateman has performed well above what I thought he would. I think our middle forwards are underperforming and they are still doing their job. I think they can improve. Tupou gives us some get that up ya from the back.

I think 2 quality signings or juniors coming through and we can actually become a team that wins more than it loses. They need to be in the right positions though. We desperately need another half and ideally an outside back.

Well the last 2 seasons finished up with
- the wooden spooners flogging us 40 pts 2021
-the Raiders leading 42-0 at halftime at Leichardt oval 2022

My end of season expectation - further humiliation and a few more jumping ship

A lot of pessimism here on the upcoming weeks, the SOO will be our friend, our 3 games around the state of origins are Canberra, Melbourne and Cronulla, these sides should have at least 3 players out each so a great opportunity to chalk up a couple of wins and some momentum. We should only have one player in the NSW team.

With all the tight games that we lost we should be sitting comfortably in the top 4 but I'd rather climb the ladder than go down
A few weeks ago we were back to back wooden spoon favourites but now me thinks that we will avoid the spoon
from what I've seen in the last 3 matches if we can string a few more wins together hell even the top 4 is possible but let's just focus on the top 8 first 😂🤣

One week at a time. Beating the lowly Saints after a win like that has been our problem historically. This club can undo last night in just 8 short days.

True let's not get carried away but after not winning for sooo long it's feels like we're on top of the world & unbeatable
You're right though it can come unstuck pretty quick & we could be back to square 1
We'll just take it 1 win/week at a time
Hopefully we can break the 2 game curse that's been plaguing us for the last few years & go on a bit of a roll but let's focus on beating the pesky dragons first
