Esan Marsters

If Rona joins the club, he might also end up in the centres potentially…

I think Rona might have some offers to stay in Super Rugby, and now that he's made the Wallabies I reckon he'd want to stay in Union.

Depends on how much he likes getting towelled up by the All Blacks three times a year.

He was always seen as a 2nd rower however ATM he has been doing a great job in the centres. So why change things if they are working.
**Suddenly our right hand defence has become a non issue.**
He is making metres and scoring tries.
If things are working…why change them?

not at all.. i understand you said this before the roosters game but mitchell and matterson ripped us to shreds down their left side. noffa or marsters just don't have the speed to turn and defend or the brains yet to know when to rush up or slide.

marsters is a good young player and deserves a spot in the 17 based on his hard work and good metres from our own half but he's not a centre and tbh a fair way off being in the starting 13

The Rah Rahs are a strange breed, and wingers don't make big money in league.

Id really like to see him get the ball less flat footed. I like him but he's another player with "potential" and is a tad over rated around here IMO.

Hopefully next year he moves to secondrow fulltime, too slow for center

That's right throw him into the thick of things before his body has had a chance to fully develop, and ruin his career before it starts.
I'd give him another season or 2 in the centre and then transition him to the secondrow.

Will end up in the forwards - yes. Don't need to rush him into it though at his age.

In the off season we'll obviously see who the best centres are and if he is not one of them, then I guess he should have some runs in the ISP and learn his trade there before bringing him back up in the forwards. If his form and ability warrants it of course.

Looks like a goodun' though.

You do realise he's a stop-gap centre and has played the majority of his career in the backrow?

Yes, I do realise he is filling in at centre, Willow. I also don't want to throw him into the backrow too early, especially if we have the luxury of waiting.
With Aloiai, McQueen, Rowdy, Chee Kam and part timers Sue and Edwards, we maybe could hold him back a tad. All for his benefit of course.
