ET - priority

We need to make ET a priority signing and give him a 2 year contract minimum. I know he has signed until the end of the year but there was also talk that he was off to the Rorters. Have I missed something, or are we focussed on re-signing more of our reserve graders?

In my humble opinion, he has the potential to rival the great Jason Lidden as a premier ball-playing lock

Agree Alf. It's refreshing to see a genuine ball player in the 13\. He's given us some much needed spark and provides another attacking option. Passes pretty well before, and at, the line.

And that's the issue I have, he's exactly what we need. I know Penrith are paying most of his contract but surely we have some coin lying around to re-sign him?

Should be some spare coin left from a certain winger recently departed 😕

Dunno CB , we just wasted $500+ K on Sirro taking up his option

Thanks Grant

If Torch is to be believed then we have cash aside for ET. JACs money alone wouldn't come close to paying him though.

Where has it been said Sirro is on 500k? If that's the case then let's say Lovett is on 300k and Ava the same.

You would think somewhere down the track we will be paying a chunk of his contract to play elsewhere, like many before him

Maybe Mayer thought he would be a super star by 2018 and not a reserve grader!!!!!We tend to pay way over the odds at the yearling sales and very few make it to a class one race

Happy you have no idea how much he is on but it does suit your agenda to pull a figure out of thin air.For the record i am not overly pleased about him being extended either.

Maybe he doesnt wanna stay?
An immediate mid year signing tells me he had very little options with other clubs and their caps full.
If I were him Id be holding off

Of course , you are so right

I'm known for just pulling figures from where the sun does shine , aren't I ??

We must be STILL in a really big hole financially at the club.. So much mismanagement in the past. To not sign JAC (sorry - sounded like a complete mistake to me), if they now lose ET.. Wow, I wouldn't know what to think. It wouldn't surprise me though. Let's hope they've got a plan. Can't seem to recognise potential until it's too late :/ Don't want to lose another piece of the puzzle in ET..

We're not in a hole at all - the cap situation for 2017 isn't too bad other than one or two contracts (e.g. Farah).
We didn't let JAC go because we don't have any money, we let him go as we wouldn't exceed our valuation for him. Time will tell whether that was a good or bad decision, but at least we're being discerning with our cap $$ now.
Remember, every dollar we spend is another dollar we can't use on someone else. Measuring and accurately managing opportunity cost has been an issue at this club for far too long.

That's true, definitely a good thing the club is becoming more calculated in their decision making regarding finances and cap management - can't disagree with that. Unfortunately still paying (no pun) for the mistakes of mismanagement in the past is quite frustrating though I guess (just involuntarily re-signed a reserve grader on FG money). I just hope that this direction by the club is amounting to something (having enough coordination and funds to re-sign Teddy, Broses etc. when other clubs are beating down our doors to take them off our hands, more so Teddy). I'm sure that's the plan so hopefully it works out for us.

That and we moved a few Back Rowers from the squad to accommodate him - Which means we had no cap room either….

It would be a wise move for the Tigers to keep him. Hopefully they can find a mutual ground to make this happen as his professionalism seems like a much needed asset to the younger guys coming through.

TT said that we would be surprised that Siro is not on great coin., so I do not think half a mill is on the money.
