OFFICIAL Ethan Roberts #309

His trajectory looks good..

Can he play 13?

As far as im concerned we should long term be looking at

8. Terrell
9. API
10. Twal
11. Samuela
12. KPP
13. Roberts

For now though id have him starting in place of samuela whilst he is injured

When he was at the Roosters there was debate whether he was a middle or edge forward.

Consensus was edge forward that would eventually move into the middle similar to Sam Fainu when he arrived here.

Looks the goods and useful to have a player that can play any running forward position. He’s got size, strength and skill. Impressed with his line running. I’m like you, reckon could be a smoky for lock but will play on an edge while Fainu is out.

I think moreover the consensus was his scalp at the expense of Spencer.
And no - not Spencer Tracy

Roosters always offloading the little ones to sign the big ones. Sometimes they mess up. Roberts might be one off those mistakes.
Ethan Roberts is a young player that has all the skills and physical attributes you need tj be an elite NRL player, but doesn’t often run the ball or tackle with high intensity or aggression.
In saying that he was playing more intensity and aggression than I have previously seen from him yesterday which is a great sign and the fact that he was competing and at times bullying some very good opponents should give him plenty of confidence moving forward.
Benji has to put a big focus on bringing out the best of him as he has the x-factor to make us a much better team and he’s the type of player the great coaches such as Bennett and Bellamy have made a career out of helping them become a player with good potential into a top class NRL player.

So how many times you seen him play?

Last week was the first time I seen him play.

At least one positive to come out of this debacle.

Congratulations young man on a great debut. Played good minutes and looked every bit of a first grader. Yes a couple of poor mistakes, but I was really impressed by his ability to stand in tackles and look to offload.

By the time Sam comes back, this guy can force his way into the middle rotation and provide some good physicality and offloading
Reminded me of Cooper Clarke [Storm prop]. Fairly quiet start but now on everyone's wish list.
When Ethan gets a few games under his belt, more confidence within himself and with those around him I think he will be in the 17. Certainly, hope so.
But I see a Prop.

Down the track I see him paired with Terrell, with Twal the lock. [ Twal faster----Robberts, bigger body]

I agree Vicious. i have watched him from his first game back in Flegg about 6 or 7 weeks back and i was underwhelmed. But probably in the most recent games i thought getting better but not sure if this is the built like Tarzan plays like Jane scenario. I have to say i was pleasantly supprised yesterday and i thought he was good. i would be sticking with Ethan and see where we go .

leave on the bench as a reserve for the rest of the season.

Twal has been amazing but maybe having Twal up front with May to shore up our middle and dominate the ruck might help. That’s IF Roberts goes on to show some good form and ability.

Twal has been phenomenal though. Been great at lock.
I was thinking Twally must of been doing extra training with Terrell over the summer and tried some of his training drinks, some coconut water mixture.

If he did it worked wonders, maybe the rest of the pack should get on board.
