Some people are definitely over reacting. We improved and lost a close one to the premiership favourites. If we play like that for the rest of the season we will do good. Obviously we could’ve been better but plenty of positives as well. We just need some star players

Same old blah blah blah

Very constructive there mate.

Mate it doesn’t matter if I am constructive or not I have no input at the club or with the players , i’m just the poor mug who has been paying my money for the last 15years to be a member.Just to be disappointed year in year out

I’m in the same boat mate I’m sick of being the laughing stock of the NRL. Like I said it was a much better game than the first four rounds but there’s plenty to improve on if we want to actually make finals

And I am in total agreement with you I only want our club to be strong making finals on a consistent basis

I think we are missing the point. Yes, last night was gritty, gutsy etc etc. a lot to get excited about. Gee if we play like that next week....
But here’s the thing - we won’t!
I don’t think we are overreacting. We all want success. This is not defined by a one in 5 decent performance. It is defined by week in and week out tough, controlled football. We’ve never seen it and I’m friggen sick of waiting for it.
So I’m not overreacting. Whilst I was happy with last nights effort, I was disgusted with the week before and I have no idea what I’ll be feeling next week.

We will have to wait and see. At least Madge shares our feelings and wants the same, let’s keep that same energy and enthusiasm every week

Agree Josh - Maguire is saying this. But I’ve been waiting and seeing for a long time. Hope Maguire takes us from hoping to actually changing

First thing you have to do is stop worrying about what other people think. It's currently about our own performances only and the way we will grow from those performances.

Marge said it, we play against Titans like against Raiders and we prob win.

I agree with the call for some perspective. Our team did pretty well in a very tough game against the Raiders who probably fielded a better and/or more experienced player than us, in pretty much every position on the field. We were in the game for the most part and fell short due to a lack of experience, a few dumb plays and poor ref calls. In recent years we have been generally smashed by them.
We do have some fine tuning of our squad and that is going to be a process - if we can't move forward from this and continue to improve then that will be the real let down and biggest disappointment.

As The title suggests , we need to chill . We are 2-3 , haven’t played remotely like we are anywhere near our best form , and have the dogs and boys up next.
In years gone , especially 2 years ago , it looked like we were peaking this early . It didn’t look like we had another gear or 2. This year , it looks like we can’t play footy and we are 2-3.
That’s all ! Just trying to keep everything in perspective

Actually, 2 and 3 is really poor.

Saints
Sharks
Titans

all bottom feeders...

Knights and Raiders only two difficult games.

If you look at our last month, we have a brutal run home.

Cows and Dogs, even this early, are basically must win games.

For perspective...here is our last six games. Compare this to our first six.
RORTERS
PANTHERS
MANLY
SOUTHS
STORM
PARRA

Facts, we played aggressive and tried our hearts out.....does anyone disagree with the effort?
Myths, we are a top 8 side. I just don't think we are a top 8 side on paper. We certainly don't have the class and effort will only get you so far. Keep shopping Madge and everyone else needs to separate their wants from reality.
We will be lucky if we are not bottom 3 by seasons end.

We took it to them last night didnt get the result but calling for players to dropped after that is not the reaction needed to get the most out of a team who lifted against a better quality side.
Tough loss but responded in the best way after a terrible loss against the Titans.

Best response is to win not just to play for 55mins and say good effort that has been a problem at this club for a long long time

We all know the theory mate.

We are giving credit for the improvement, we all want, we all expect it to be 80 minutes including the players.

Have a listen to AD interview after the game and tell me he and the team were not disappointed and will be trying even harder next week.

You are a very hard marker - obviously you expected your children (if you have any) to walk when one day old.

I think we are all in the same boat, we have all been patient, trouble is we have had to put up with a lot of dopes on/off the field that have made us impatient.

However, lets not let those idiots cause us to put the boot into what we are doing now. We are closer than we have ever been for nearly ten years to getting to where we want to be.

Still a few more duds to get rid of and a few more "gooduns" to bring to the club.

Let's look at the positives, and leave the negatives behind.

Go.... You Mighty Tigers.

Whether we are a top 8 team is a worthy question...

Let's start with
Rorters
Raiders
Storm
Manly
Eels
Knights

I think we would all agree they are ahead of us.

Then it comes down two spots:

Cows = look to better than us as they have a couple of world class players.

Souths = again, they have some class players / match winners / Origin level we don't have.

So, there is the top 8 probably.

Panthers likely ahead of us on talent.

Broncs also once they get Fifita back....we do not have anyone like Fifita, TPJ and Haas.

Talent wise, we are def not top 8. Probably 11th.

I am with you on this post it’s just that I have been a tigers supporter since 1962 so yes at times I do get disappointed and upset but but I always stick with them and always will

My disappointment has been a bit longer - Tigers supporter since 1950.

However I feel the same pain as every other Tiger supporter.

Completely agree.

Fact is since 2011, we've screwed up our salary cap multiple times and rotating coaches every 2 years has played a big part in that. We still have Packer, Reynolds on big money until end of 2021 and Mbye end of 2022.

I hate not being in finals but whinging about it is a waste of time. Madge can only do so much with what he has. Need to stick by the coach and hope he makes the right decisions going forward.

What needs to be remembered is that Canberra were also very good defensively. Of course I am not happy at the win but it was a very good game of defensive oriented footy which is good to see still exists with the rule changes, don't want every game winding up a basketball score.

There were some positives, Talau was solid in his showing, and will only get better and I would hope that Madge has told him that it is his position to lose now. Reynolds did reasonably well and put on for our only try. Also pretty impressed at the defensive efforts of a few of our forwards. Didn't realise Aloiai, Mikaele and Twal made 138 tackles between the three of them for only two missed (Aloiai and Twal missed one each.)

Grant will be a 15 year player at Melbourne. Disappointing that we have him only for the year.

Not just win man . We would have put 40 on them. I said this last week . Most of the titans tries were no effort defence stuff , with lucky kicks to the corner. Which is why Madge was filthy. This week the defence was there , but we couldn’t get the rub of the green in the second half , through both our own rubbish , and some head scratching decisions.
I’m not as pessimistic as others. If we can get to round 12-13 and we are 6-6 , 6-7 , 7-6 etc. then we can really build to the back of the season . I’m really ok with us not finding out groove in round five , but still in 9th. This form would have us in 15th in years gone past . We have to have perspective. It’s happening , not as quick as we would like , but it is happening . We have Blore , Uto, potentially Saab , Madden , Simpkins , Cini , Kei , all Aus schoolboys , all coming through . We just have to be patient .

Madge needs more time to shift the culture and start to see the fruits from the junior pathways. I think our squad currently is one of the worst in the last 10 years without any real game breakers, but this new style will lead us to success.

and how many other coaches have had the resolute backing of robbie?
