Especially funny when Benny forgets why Balmain are in the quagmire they find themselves as well. And that's coming from someone who was a Balmain fan.

Roach and Elias should be blacklisted, and if Sirro continues to have a sad over the club moving on his underperforming son he should be as well.

I may have missed something he has said but IMO Blocker hasn't kicked the WT club just out of spite or for the sake of it, he has just told it how it is in regards to WT being a shambles of a club. Which is truth in all fairness.

He gave Idris some pretty unnecessary cheap shots during the pre season. He also attacked the board for allowing all these contracts to end at the same time when it was the previous board responsible for that. Blocker's problem is that he's not too bright. He shoots from the hip based off emotion. Guys like Siro and Elias are much more methodical.

He's looking to be not far off the mark re: Idris though.
He might not be bright but I will say not many played with more pride and passion, we need bucketfulls of those qualities in our club ATM within our current playing group.

It wasn't constructive. You could feel the bitterness behind what he was saying. He said something along the lines of "lets see how he goes when he runs over the sideline". It was like it was personal.

Blocker is the first bloke they go to for a quote whenever the place is up the creek. I can't remember the last time he ever said anything positive about WT. I loved the bloke on the field, as I did Benny and Sirro, but they only ever seem to line up to stick the slipper in now. Sirro has a grudge but handle it like an adult FFS.

People work for places of business for decades and get moved on, that's how it is. Professional sports is no different to any other business in that respect. Sirro is my favourite player to ever strap on a boot and I have been fortunate enough to meet and speak with him a couple of times, but I am terribly disappointed in the way he has behaved in regard to this. I find his actions on par with those women who have used the media as a vehicle to get back at footy players in some sort of petty vendetta.

Except for 3 or 4 weeks towards the end of 2016 there has not been a whole lot of anything positive occurring with our club, on or off the field. So I'm with Blocker when he says our club is a blundering mess, it is on the money.

Why on Earth would Roach have anything personal against Idris? There is no logic behind that statement at all.

He used him as a vehicle to bash the club. As if to say "yeah he's a great signing…NOT". I'll try and fish out the quote's when I get home. Then tell me if you think what he was saying wasn't OTT.

Yea it would be nice though if they got comments from guys who actually played for WT - blokes like Hoppa, Field or Matt Seers - guys you can look up to.

Just on a side note when checking the list of ex players i found Trent Robinson - i never knew he played for WT.

Blocker ,Sironen ,Brasher , Pearce and Elias need to shut their mouth's and keep their opinions to themselves

Sure as hell aren't helping the situation that's for sure

The WT's need to have a minder just for Elias alone , every time he starts a media interview about the club they just lay him out

Bet you'd find a few ex Balmain fans who'd quite happily actually pay money for the role

What has Brasher said? Or Pearce? - Genuine question I haven't read anything from them.

I think they would have been super pumped about yesterday's decision and could barely contain there excitement about throwing their opinion in…

Benny in particular had a glow about him..
I particularly took note of his comments about Isaac..

BHahabaha

Benny was embarrassing.

I can live with the others.

What Sirro said was fine. Considering the way he was ditched.

Elias isn't the only one responsible for the demise of Balmain Leagues Club. The board made bad investments and lost money. It was deep in debt and trading at a loss by the time Elias and Rozelle Village got involved.

Oh god Benny Benny please shut up.
On a different planet to everyone else. The media love him for all the wrong reasons

Year 2000 I think. Only 2 or 3 games.

Brasher made a comment late last season in regards to the club

My bad about Junior , shouldn't have been on that list

I'm sure JT being an ex Magpie had nothing to do with these ex players disdain. I mean we seen tonight Benny unload on the Wests board. I sense a bit of jealousy that Balmain don't have equal footing. The ironic part in that is that's Benny's fault!!!

Well considering it was most likely the wests members who sacked the scarecrow you could say he was universally hated?

Premiership-winning forward Liam Fulton calls on Wests Tigers board to walk
MATT LOGUE, The Daily Telegraph
March 21, 2017 5:59pm

PREMIERSHIP winning forward Liam Fulton has called on the Wests Tigers’ board to stand down, saying: “They are doing a shitty job”.

One of the club’s proudest players, he is sick of seeing the Tigers held back by poor management decisions.

His frustration reached a peak on Monday when Jason Taylor became the third Tigers coach to be sacked in the past five years.

“The board should go,” Fulton told The Daily Telegraph.

“They should just bring someone else in, because if it’s the same board that’s been there the whole time they are doing a pretty shitty job. The players are underperforming, which is the bottom line.
\

“But it does start at the top and the board. Look at the decisions they’ve made over the years. There is no stability in the club.”

Fulton says the board’s indecision and lack of leadership has been highlighted through the dismissals of former coaches Mick Potter and Tim Sheens.

“Mick did a great job, but he had no idea what was going on,” he said.

“I remember signing a new three-year deal and he didn’t even know about it.

“He wasn’t even involved in the contract negotiations and if I’m a head coach I would be negotiating with the players.

“Sheensy is another person who shouldn’t have gone. I think that was a big mistake by the board getting rid of him, because he definitely still had the players’ support.”

Fulton made significant sacrifices during his 11-season career.

This came to the fore in the late 2000s when he and fellow teammates took pay cuts to keep the team together.

Liam Fulton says former coach Mick Potter (pictured) was left in the dark at the club.
Fulton even left the Tigers for England at the end of 2008 to ensure the club was under the salary cap the following season.

“But when you love the club, that’s the things you do,” he said. “They used to call us in and say, ‘we’re over the cap, can you help us out’. It was pay cuts from 50,000 grand through to 80 and 100 grand.

“Robbie Farah, Bryce Gibbs, Benji Marshall and myself — we all took pay cuts to keep players there to try and win a comp.

“They were back-end contracts and you got the money a year later, but it was still a sacrifice and a hindrance.”

Fulton said the players were happy to take financial cuts, but it became increasingly difficult to swallow when the board kept letting them down with poor management.

“It’s a bit upsetting that we used to make those sacrifices for the club, then people behind the scenes aren’t even making sacrifices,” he said.

“They are just making stupid decisions.

“I ended up getting paid what I was owed and the club looked after me when I had my concussion, but it (the Tigers) is not the place it used to be.”

The Tigers find themselves in a power struggle with Isaac Moses — the manager of the club’s big four — James Tedesco, Luke Brooks, Mitch Moses and Aaron Woods.

Fulton said all the Tigers players also need to take ownership of their performances.

“I think it’s about mateship and they kind of gave in a bit on the weekend (against Canberra),” he said.

“Every single game you play you are putting your reputation on the line.

“I really like the players that are there, like Tedesco and these young blokes.

“It’s hard for them because they get bagged a bit, but they don’t have a forward pack to lead them and they have got to do it on their own.”

Former Penrith and Warriors coach Ivan Cleary is favoured to replace Taylor as head coach, but Fulton would like to see his ex-teammate Todd Payten get a shot.

“They’ve got to sign someone like Todd for five years and say, ‘right, you’ve got five years to turn the club around’,” he said.

“I know everyone is talking about Ivan, but I don’t think Todd would be out of line and I definitely think he’ll bring success to the club.”

Fulton may be retired, but he is still involved in the game as first grade coach of the Campbelltown City Kangaroos in Group 6\. He said his main motivation was to help groom young players to become future Wests Tigers stars.

“Only problem, it’s not really getting looked after,” he said.

“A lot of these young kids that are coming through are getting pouched by St George and everywhere.

“So if I can contribute just a little bit to try and help these young fellas, I’ll be contributing like in the good old days when I used to play for the Magpies.”

Lol, That'll do me.

I love Fulton but he obviously has no idea whats going on. He starts with "because if it’s the same board that’s been there the whole time they are doing a pretty s*** job." The rest of it is irrelevant after that because he started off saying he didn't even know it's a new board!

I agree with Liam's sentiment here but a lot of what he talks about highlights what a cluster the current administration inherited from previous management…

At least we now have a clean slate from 2018..Can the current admin be trusted not to balls it up is the $64 question..?

Our playing culture stinks…

I liked Fulton, he gave his all.

Bur yeah, lets give Payten the job for 5 years (probably so he cam employ you)

No - lets not.

I agreed with most up until 5 year Peyton thing.
Makes me shudder.

May as well just sign coaches to one year deals. They don't see out longer ones at the Tigers.
