Ex Wests Tigers Players in 2014

Recruitment & retention always creates much debate and it is always easy in hindsight to predict which players to keep at the club and which to let go.

At the time many were happy to see Fifita go, while some thought Dean Collis would come good. Now here is our chance to predict what will happen in the future so there is no confusion where we all stood before it happened on some of the more debatable players.

Ayshford – Based on last year’s efforts he had to go. However I think he will have a much improved year at the Sharks (which won’t be hard) and get back to some good form.

Reddy – Provided good back up however if Simona returns well from injury and Lawrence improves will not be greatly missed.

Lote – Cannot see him being consistently good and will be a risk. We have much better options out wide.

Groat – I wish him well at St George and in the separate thread people have varying opinions. Still only young so time is on his side. However I don’t think he will ever reach the level initially thought & may be a back up player only at the Dragons.

Santi – I think once he puts on some more size he will be a consistent first grader for many years to come and may make the Parra first grade side this year. I prefer Santi over Lovett (except Lovett came through our Juniors).

Spence – I think we have much better options in our forwards. Cannot see him getting a run at Penrith either.

Rudolph - probably the biggest unknown and the longest wait to see. If I had to bet I will say he will not be a regular first grader.

So overall I think Santi could be the one long term regret. While I think Ayshford will be much better this year I am glad he is gone (and much prefered that we kept Simona).

Of our players I think Tedesco will be our star of now and the future. In 2013 he was still doing the basics of his job very well and his pace and attacking skills have come back now he has recovered from his injury.

Wonder how this side would fair against our current side

1 Mitch Brown
2 Beau Ryan
3 Blake Ayshford
4 Joel Reddy
5 Lote Tuqiri
6 John Morris ( a stretch I know ,but Sheens is the coach of this side  )
7 Rob Lui
8 Andrew Fifita
9 Isaac De Gois
10 Bryce Gibbs
11 Bronson Harrison
12 Ben Teo
13 Chris Heighington

14 Matt Groat
15 David Gower
16 Junior Moors
17 Tom Humble

Blokes who missed out Shaun Spence , Andrew Everingham , Geoff Daniela , Masada Iosefa and Pat Politoni ,

I think Ayshford is in for a pretty good yr. Probably not to the extent that people will be saying it was a mistake letting him go but i think he'll do well playing outside Carney,

With the exception of Fifita all are average first graders at best!

Fifita is the biggest loss. Once you get caught in the sheens/marshall/beau/farah dressing room politics….your time is limited at the club. Thankfully all those mentioned are gone apart from Robbie who I think had the smallest ego out of the lot of them and is a real asset to our club anyway. I think Ashyford will have a good year at the sharks...he is a good player but like a few of them had gone stale at the tigers and needed a change.
Lote will have a good year at the bunnies if he stays injury free.....he's big and fast and running off that backline will score many tries imo....but then who wouldn't if you have inglis inside you.
As for the others....no great loss imo, you just can't keep everyone but I do wish them well and hope they have a good year at their new clubs....especially Matty Groat.

Lui was a good fit until he began his antics , he could of been our answer for the No 6 jersey

Its tricky and strange how things worked out…
Say we kept lui, we never would have signed braith.... But may have also struggled holding on to Luke brooks and Mitchell Moses?

Funny how things workout.

I think Ayshford will benefit from the change. I don't think that's the clubs or Blake's fault. Sometimes a player just needs a change of scenery to bring out the best in them.

Players come and go at clubs all the time in the modern era.

Im pretty sure we would have liked to have kept Santi, but Parramatta were able to offer more. I think he will do well, but you cant keep them all.

When we lost Fifita I was not overly disjointed at the time, he looked immensely talented, but he just didnt look like he had the dedication to produce. Leaving was probably the shot in the arm he needed.

I suspect in a couple of years he will need another change, some blokes need to be refreshed regularly.

Most of the others we let go, there is clear reasons to move them on.

:supporter: Collis plays for Wakefield wildcats in eng/supereague. David Fiffita couldn't we have a crack at him for the right money for next year If he's up to it.

Fifita is a gun…
Massive loss, no doubt.

The rest of em are good blokes but don't care.
Masada Iosefa is gone too and Sean Meany also as far as I know doesnt have a deal..?

Happy, I don't know how Groat would feel about being on the same team as Te'o?

Heighington may not be too happy having to share a dressing room with teo either.

We traded Fifita and Gibbs for Blair… How could we forget!

_Posted using RoarFEED 2013_

That's why we like Blair so much. Talk about getting screwed over !

Spence how he managed to play 1st grade I will never know.
I don't think Ayshford will do much. It was a good clean out.
Reddy and Lote good offloads
Rudolph had trouble holding down an under 20's spot didn't he ?
Santi got a truck load more money to go to Parra. Played well for Italy he might be something in the future.

Agree with everyone Potter has let go.

Sheens on the other hand, still too many swear words to post here. Usually ends in Fafita.
