Experts theory on the role of our 7 is soooo incorrect!

I am in no way comparing Moltz to Fitz. Moltz is a good talented footballer whereas Fitz is not. My point was to show that the whole “we won 7/'7 with Moltz at 7" argument is bunk. Players should be assessed on how they perform, not merely because the team happened to perform well as a whole. We won on Sat night but that doesnt mean Fitz should be anywhere near our starting line up. That is my point.

As I have said repeatedly, Moltz is a very good player (albeit not a complete player as a 7). Stop trying to assert I dont rate Moltz.

Ron, my understanding is that Fitzy was a junior 5/8th (just like Moltz). Does that chnage your answer?

junior what? moltz is a junior kangaroo half, im gonna bet that fitzy didnt make the rep team from his own town or region in the halves

I agree the whole 7 form 7 is bunk….the whole team played better especially the pigs up front.....After all we won something like 8 in a row in 2007 with a Morris/Fulton combo.....

but but but......Moltzen at 7 during those wins showed me that Benj and Farah where allowed to play better cause Moltzen was there to take the pressure off when needed as opposed to when Morris was there it did not.....

I can't see Fitzy ever offering the same.....

Farah and Marshall are our Playmakers.....have been since 2007....the 7 will only ever compliment them...IMO

Ron I completely agree with you. :wink: Moltz is a far better prospect than Fitzy could dream about.

That being said, by my reckoning we would have won 7 of the 8 games from the golden run even if Moltz wasnt playing. Similarly, if we won the next 4 with Fitz at 7 I would say that Fitz had nothing to do with those victories or the previous 2\. Thats my point.

Dont disagree. Still not convinced that Moltz is the complete answer at 7 but he is far better than anyone we have since Prince, expect for Lui (both Lui and Moltz have yet to convice me they are the answers).

Age and experience will change that, look no further than Benji as an example of this.

I would prefer a specialist to play the position but if Sheens selects the Fitz to play there I am prepared to accept that after watching the Cowboys game. However I would much prefer a specialist plarer there.

The experts referred to in this thread don't know the Wests Tigers as well as those that post on here. We live and breathe Wests Tigers at this time of year. Those blokes only really know the populist players in the team. They don't know the intricate detail like us. So when it comes to replacement half backs, I'd rather listen to what fellow forumers have to say ….... even though I disagree with most on this occasion with respect to Lazarus and Taumata. I wouldn't throw either in to first grade yet. At least not in the starting line up anyway.
