Can people who were very prone to violence because of their own trauma , u dersrand this and spend thier life trying to quiet the noise that causes that violence . I know many guys who can do that . Or try thier best .
I’ve also seen guys who come from good families , one day wake up and decide the root of all thier problems is ethnic people/ lefties , and they grab thier MAGA hat , and get on the hate train .
To say people don’t change is absolutely ridiculous. There’s transformative events throughout everyone’s life to change us all , all the time .

I went to prison for something similar & spent a few years of my life in there doing some serious reflecting & thinking what the hell have I gotten myself into. It's shallow & low & there were times I thought about taking my own life because of the poor life choices I had made.

But who knows maybe actually spending time in Prison & seeing his brothers go on to achieve what he took away from himself might help him wake up.

Cmon, people need to get real here. There's no way we'd guarantee anything for someone who's still in jail for another 3-6 years if i recall the details right. Sure we could say to the family, 'when he gets out we're happy to bring him down to training, see what his fitness and motivation is like and give him a run from there if he earns it.'
That's what I would expect the club to say to the family. Professional, non-committal. Keeping everyone happy.

It’s not a sermon , but a reality . That outlook comes across as immature and entitled.
The world isn’t black and white mate . Most things are various shades of grey. I would hope that you won’t be judged forever because of the worst thing you do .
Hey maybe you’re right . But you have zero idea if you are or aren’t . He’s literally in long bay , so only his family and himself would have any real idea .

Then you’re not living in reality dude . If you’re sitting there telling yourself no one can change , how can you yourself change ? How do you evolve ? . The whole thought process literally takes 30 seconds to get blown up , when you reverse it .
I’m sure you’re going to respond with something passive aggressive , condescending , and dismissive but I would seriously think about whether that concept you’re telling yourself needs reevaluation.

Why do you feel the need to belittle or have a go at my opinion?
Every response you have done so without knowing anything about who I am, what I’ve done and what I’ve experienced.
Your opinion is your reality in whatever bubble you live in. Good for you. Others have different experiences.

??? None of that’s relevant , specific to what we’re talking about though .Youre confusing justification of what he did , with redemption for what he did .
Nobody is justifying what he did . We are commenting on you , and only you, saying he’s a piece of shit and people don’t change . And it has very little to do with him playing footy . He probably never will again .
What I’m commenting on , and specifically this , is the idea that he should be punished forever , which is what you’re insinuating .
He is literally sitting in a Gaol cell right now . The causation of him stabbing that guy is there for all to see .
And when his time is served , then he should be given the opportunity to put his life together .
And as to the victim , if thier life has been forever impaired/ impacted by it , well then that’s up to them to figure out the pathway they need to take in regards to that . Compensation etc .
But if you think Manase and his family haven’t paid a heavy price for his stupidity , the I don’t know what to say . Because he would have lost millions , he can never leave the country , most jobs won’t hire him , most financial institutions won’t lend to him , he can never join things like defence , police , fire brigade . Won’t be able to work with kids , on and on it goes .
I see dumb stuff like this and it terrifies me . As to how quickly a kid can be lead down the wrong path , or lead others . Anyway . You do you . I just think that kind of angst is not worth it .

Of course change is apparent in all our lives.
Our likes, dislikes, tastes, desires, appearances, education, personalities, opinions etc are always developing and evolving.
That is not what I’m talking about. I’m referring to one’s fundamental essence. Who we actually are.
I don’t run round doing the shit I did in my 20’s anymore because I’ve chosen not to, due to becoming a family man. However, if by circumstance I found myself in a situation where I had to, it wouldn’t take much to slip back into that mentality. It would be automatic, as it has been my whole life.

You don’t trust a dog that bites. People are no different. We are all animals by nature….yes more intelligent and evolved, but the basic instincts remain.
If someone felt the need during a fight to try and kill his opponent, that is instinct. No amount of therapy or punishment can change that. You can suppress it and appear changed on the surface, but deep down it remains, until one day he finds himself in a similar situation and it resurfaces.
 
Lee will be writing letters to the parole board. Church groups etc will too.
Don't underestimate the power of money and influence to get you out of jail.
He will be out in under 3 years. I'll put money on it.
