OFFICIAL Fainu Brothers.

Yes, I have . . But how do you know that the reason he stabbed the guy was because he tapped into his fight or flight . Which what the “who they really are “ in that situation is .
He might have stabbed the kid , because he thought it would be cool , or because he has never had any real consequences , all of which are not ones inherent nature .

Honestly Doesn't matter bro. Don't drag him
back into this conversation please I beg you

Again, choices vs who he is.
Have you ever been in a life and death situation and seen people expose who they really are?
Once again, you are confusing that guy changing the way he chooses to live, with who he is.
That is not who he is. Who he is led to him being a junkie street thug.
He is only a terrible investment or a personal tragedy away from returning to form. I’m sure he struggles with this and good on him.
What do you mean 'choices vs who he is'? You think people are born with a prescribed mentality to do these sort of things? I'd say in most cases it's those around them that influence who they become. Depending on the amount of influence and their individual vulnerability they change from an innocent young bloke to someone who engages in these sort of things. Who someone 'is' constantly changes. Much like someone can go from a role model to a crack addict, the reverse can also apply. Make a weighted judgement based on who they've become compared to who they once were, as opposed to ruling someone out entirely. If a friend of myn used to practice as a civil engineer but now works in business and has been for a while, I wouldn't take their advice on a structural design as gospel, but acknowledge their opinion and give it weight based on how long they've been out of the field for, how long they previously worked for etc.

He isn't exactly Ted Bundy, I wouldn't consider his actions as more a psychological concern to claim that this is 'who he is'. It's very obvious, especially having grown up with these boys (Primary/High school), gang affiliation and suburb wars was a very prominent aspect, unfortunately influencing the young impressionable mind. Why wasn't I involved in this? Probably because there was less opportunity to become influenced, I had other friends and groups to also hang out with.

"Have you ever been in a life and death situation and seen people expose who they really are?" Sounds like a line out of a TV show.

Not to suggest Manase will change during his time in jail, but he definitely can change 'who he is'.

I like how most people who have disagreed with me have resorted to playing the man rather than the ball on this discussion.
Mate you can’t call someone a piece of shit , and say he will never change , then get upset when people do exactly what you did . Play the man .
I said it before , you lack perspective dude . You can get upset and say we are “playing the man” which really means , saying mean things to you . But that’s not what I’m doing . I’m genuinely saying I think that you have an immature thought ie. that thought is immature ,not fully formed.
I know someone is a good person , amazing aunt , the most caring person you would ever know …now . She was when we were kids as well . But there was a period there where her childhood got the best of her , she gave into chasing the dragon , robbed people , did all the things junkies do to score . Sorted her shit out . And now that’s an inspirational story for those that know her .
Your whole logic isn’t really logical IMO.
By the way I used to agree with you . Until I got a little older , and a little less angry .

I think he did it because he is violent.

I haven’t denigrated any of your posts or talked down to you, as you have me.
I have tonnes of life experience in this area. I’m surrounded by deadbeat pieces of trash just like him.
I entered this thread as some have been talking recently about giving this bloke a second chance. Screw him. He doesn’t deserve it. It matters not to me what justice warrior slant you put on it. I care about his victim.

That's where you're wrong Tuck because I was exactly like this kid. I went to prison for something similar & spent a few years of my life in there doing some serious reflecting & thinking what the hell have I gotten myself into. It's shallow & low & there were times I thought about taking my own life because of the poor life choices I had made.

It's been 20 years since I finished my sentence & I have completely turned my life around, I have a beautiful wife & beautiful kids & I am now a Youth worker & frequently visit Juvenile Detention Centres to talk to these young kids about the choices they are making & the path it can potentially lead to.

This isn't a story for people to feel sorry for me, I am telling this story because people like this can change but at the end of the day it's ultimately up to them to change. I sort of can see your sentiments on this as I followed this kid closely & he was still conducting in gang/postcode activity all over Instagram & seemed to be hanging with the same crowd that led him to where he is. But who knows maybe actually spending time in Prison & seeing his brothers go on to achieve what he took away from himself might help him wake up.
Late to the party, but I love this story man.

Good on ya! What an awesome way to turn it around.

Good signings. I trust the people in the know can recognise talent.

Couple of questions I want to know:

Did we sign Samuella because we needed another middle forward or because he is a package deal with Latu - in effect paying 800K for Latu?

Did Benji Want this or was he forced?
Benji wanted this, that is clear. Benji also got his way otherwise we would have Schulster as well.

Latu comes with Samuella. That's how it rolls. While our signing spree has been awesome, only Api and maybe Klemmer have earned a "keep me" spot. On Paper we have some damn good forwards, yet I can see Samuela just slotting in and if someone slots out so be it.

No one but Api has really earned their spot in the side.

Just watched some highlights of Latu game today in NSW cup and he looks the goods.
2 tries and defence is solid for what I've seen.

He is a solid unit so not concerned about him been rag dolled around in the NRL.

Looking forward to seeing him play as I think Manly will regret letting these guys go.

I wonder how Samuela will go. We have Bateman and IP on the edges and I think he'd have to push one of them out to get a spot in the team. I'm starting to warm to IP. He is playing consistent footy.

Another good win by Manly NSW Cup Team against the Warriors in NZ last night with Latu and a Samuela Fainu both starting for Manly.
Latu’s winning success rate seems to be very high which is very encouraging.

Looks like Latu is not playing this week as Josh Schuster has taken his spot in NSW cup and Jersey F game already done.
Shame was looking forward this that.

Imagine extending a play on 850k and losing your best junior only for him to be in reserve grade this quick..
