They will only be back ups if they are not playing good enough to be selected.anf someone else is playing better.
Dont think any player signs on with type of incentive and if they were told that pretty sure they would have declined the offer.

well they have both played every game they have been available for in fg. neither has played isp here this year so….I'm guessing no. both will be thinking of playing fg next year

i really dont care that they have resigned, WHAT really worries me that the 4-5 top class players we need seem to be no where in sight. the longer it goes without any positive signings the worse i feel. do we really have anyone looking to sign any real talent or are we just picking up older players and inexperienced players.

I always thought Robbie would be there next year, but Benji was a complete surprise. Wonder what the terms are.

It’s times like this I wish I was a religious man.

We all are , it's just the footy Gods can't be expected to pass miracles over willy nilly mate

It was a miracle we won in 2005 and its been a miracle we have avoided a spoon so far

I've no idea what the content of the contract negotiations was of course. But I've got enough faith in Pascoe/Cleary to assume that they haven't sold either Farah or Marshall a role if they have no intention of giving it to them.

Time will tell I guess

I don't think that any merged club should ever be wooden spooners - if they can still be wooden spooners they what hope is there

If we can actually get 2 top line forwards, a strike centre and a tall, fast winger to round out the team then I'm ok with Farah & Benji staying on.

Calling Mr Cultured Bogan , I need you to interpret again

Ergh.

Next thing they'll do is bring in Fulton out of retirement, bring Heighno in for a swan song, and release Cleary to the panthers to bring in Todd Payten as coach.

Not to mention Royce Simmons putting out the witches hats at training.

It feels like I've woken up in 2012 again.

2019 Joint Captain/Coaches??

Was thinking last week that it looked like they were our best option atm. Benji could play utility role. Hopefully Farah can help Liddle develop his game.
Is something else happening at club, behind the scenes, that are making them want to stay and genuinely help out. Though they’ve been selfish in the past, but there’s no doubting how much they love the club. IDK what to think anymore.
Got a good laugh from this

No point getting more forwards when we have to carry a spare hooker on the bench.
We handicap ourselves with this arrangement.

Can LIddle also play fullback where not such a workload and Moses play brilliantly at another posi?

The signing of Marshall as back up 6 puts to bed any hopes that N Cleary will be released to play for tigers in 2019

Steve, I never thought for one minute that N Cleary would be released next year to anyone.

As for Farah and Marshall re-signing for one more year, it does not fill me with excitement. I’m thinking they are staying one year too long.

I agree CQ. I hold no hope of him coming at all. I’m just saying that if there was a slight chance - it’s dead for next year at least.

I’m ok with them staying. Reynolds must be our 6 and Benji is back up only as needed. I’m happy for Farah and Liddle to fight it out - I still think Farah offers something but I was a bit concerned at the lack of ball Brooks was getting towards the end of the season.

What’s not filling me with excitement is recruitment. Jeez we need four good first graders to fill our roster.
