Wests Tigers centre Chris Lawrence says no-one could question the loyalty of club captain Robbie Farah - even if he fails to re-sign with the NRL club.

Off-contract at the end of the season, Farah has been linked with a big money move to Parramatta - the Tigers' opponents at Leichhardt Oval on Friday night.

The Tigers remain keen to extend the NSW State of Origin hooker's stay beyond an 11th season, but Lawrence said no Tigers player or fan could begrudge Farah looking after himself.

"He's spilled blood, sweat and tears for the club," Lawrence said.

"He's been as loyal as he can to the club and I'm sure he wants to stay - and if circumstances permit, I'm sure he will stay.

"But if it's not and if it doesn't happen to work out, I don't think any players would begrudge him if he leaves, he'd be doing it for the right reasons."

Last month Farah said he wouldn't be bothered if contract talks continued on into the NRL season, but admitted he was keen to sort out his future.

Farah developed a tight bond with Parramatta coach Ricky Stuart during their time together with NSW last season, and it is believed the Eels mentor has made the Tigers hooker his No.1 recruitment priority.

Tigers teammate Benji Marshall said the club should do everything in its powers to hold onto the 29-year-old.

"I think the most important task for the club is to re-sign him," Marshall said.

"What he does with his leadership around the place, he has a big influence on the younger guys.

"Also his ability on the field - we need his experience.

"When we play without Robbie, our team's a completely different team.

"He's a priority at the moment to get him re-signed.

"I'm here till 2015 so lock him up too."

I'm not sure if Robbie will stay or go but I find it weird that journos play up the relationship between Farah and Stuart. This is the same guy who only picked Farah due to injuries to Ennis and Buderus. Even if Robbie doesn't hold a grudge he would surely have to question Stuart's judgement.

Doubt robbie will resign, he would have done it allready if he was gonna i reckon. Especially since he said he wanted to get it cleared before the season started. And with the eels doing well now…I dunno, i get the feeling he will be leaving :frowning:

Wish he could stay and be a 1club player

OMGG reminds me of the gibbs "signed a 2 year deal.. tiger for life", beau ryan, heighno articles

Parra have less chance of winning the company than us. Zero recruitment. Robbie is a smart businessman.

I agree with the article. He signs somewhere else he's still my kids fav player. He gave blood for this club. That will never change.

I hop we sign him. Just find the cash. It's there for someone like him

With the 10 year player concession I find it hard to believe another team will be able to offer Farah a sizable amount more then we can.

If he leaves it will be because of an issue he has with the club.

There is a certain aurora that comes with being a one club player. I just hope he is attracted to that prospect. As mentioned above it is worrying that this isn't sorted before the season proper started.

do you see him signing anywhere else?
It just wouldnt make sense.
He's a tiger for life.
I just dont understand all the media in this.

i dont know if Robbie will stay , i have a feeling he will go to parra he would be missed badly but we will keep going , hope he stays but i think if he was staying it would already be done the clubs record on keeping players and buying good players has been very average

hopefully he signs for Parra on Friday morning and then runs out Friday night and takes a dump right on the grass at LO

nah I don't actually hope that

I think he's mind is made , i don't what the delay is ? he will be staying , would absolutely be gobsmacked if he left, despite how we have been playing we do have a bright future.

I think Robbie will stay, i think its just a case of who might be coming next year. Parra have made heaps of offers to players & are struggling to sign any quality players.

I am pretty positive he will stay. Just needs to sort out the nitty-gritty and as I understand it some clarification around future recruitment. I think he will want some promises from the club about beefing up the forward pack.
