Wests Tigers coach Jason Taylor has moved to assure Robbie Farah he remains in the club's NRL plans and could yet play his 250th game for the joint venture this season.

Farah was on Wednesday sensationally dumped from the Tigers side for Sunday's round-20 clash against St George Illawarra at Sydney's Olympic stadium.

Instead, he will run out for the Tigers' reserve grade outfit against Newtown at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday.

Plans have been shelved for a 250th game celebration at Farah's beloved Leichhardt in round 22 and the future of the New South Wales hooker is uncertain despite him being under contract at the Tigers through 2017.

But Farah, who is three matches shy of 250-game milestone, could still play a role in the Tigers' fight for a finals berth.

"There is no doubt Robbie will be considered for selection after this weekend once we see how both teams (NRL and NSW Cup) play and put everything together," Taylor said on Saturday.

"I would like to think we could get to the point where Robbie is able to get that (250) but we don't know what the future holds.
"No one expects us to put individual milestones ahead of what we genuinely believe is best for the team."

Taylor denied there was a personal issue between he and the NSW number nine and the decision was based purely on the performance of the team.

"Robbie is a creative dummy half and we have a number of creative players in our team," he said.

"There is only one ball and it is hard to have too many creative players. That is the clearest way I can put it in terms of how of our team runs and how we would like it to run.

"Robbie is a great player and a State of Origin player and that is why I understand how tough it is for people to understand this and it is very tough for Robbie to accept it but he has accepted it in great fashion."

Anyone who believes that this isn't to try and force him out is Dreaming, whether or not he gets another first grade game will most likely be determined by results and if Taylor is made to look more like an idiot by them.
I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't quite a lot more to go in this .

Something wrong with the rules when a kid can't play first grade due to the 2nd tier cap, but it's fine for an Origin player to drop down a grade

Just wondering what the eligibility rules are for reserve grade in the finals. Does a player have to have played a certain number of regular season games? If so, would Farah qualify?

That Robbie Farah, at this stage of his career, is being required to go out and prove himself in a reserve grade is just ridiculous.

The 250 is a personal milestone, but it is also a milestone for the club. It should have been a celebration of what we all believe are the qualities of being a Wests Tiger - loyalty, never say die, determination. Although, now the club doesn't stand for these things, it would seem.

Of course this is personal. Jason Taylor was made to look stupid last time he tried to shaft Robbie. This is payback. We've had 4 playmakers all season, why disrupt things when it looked like we might have found a winning combination. If he is fair dinkum, all the coach had to do was instruct Robbie to drop his 'creative' game all together and let him just shovel the ball on for the next three games, thus effectively reducing the number of creative players by one.

Really, Robbie deserves better. So does the club, so do the fans.

Imo JT as coach should be allowed to pick his side,i personally dont agree with Farah being dropped or accept the BS reasons given,''too many cooks spoil the broth'' garbage, this is all about egos clashing and money. From an oppositions point of view i would rather defend against a fill in hooker with two left hands than a SOO rake. This issue would also be more easily accepted if a specialist hooker replaced Farah, has JT forgotten what happened against the Rooster? What ever the out come i still support the WT and hope they win tomorrow.
Interesting how our board have distance themself from the selection drama,Pascoe says its not there job to interfere and apparently has gone on holidays,O'neill is he in hiding ?both are watching hoping it pans out to their liking.

He's not being required to prove himself, he's being paid to play football so that's what he's doing.

Payback for what? He wanted to shaft him 12 months ago and it seems he still wants to shaft him. He's probably been wanting to do it the whole time, the club just wasn't backing him prior to now.

If you believe him (which you probably don't) then he's already told him to drop his creative game and he has difficulty following that instruction due to his "natural instincts" (Taylor's words).

Ink I think that you should replace Todd Greenberg at the NRL, cause you seem to have a lot more common sense than the idiots running the game.

Robbie has almost certainly played his last first grade game for WT after what he said today. As disappointed as Robbie would be at having to play reserve grade he probably shouldn't have said what he did today- he has just dug his own grave for certain now.
What a shame this whole balls-up has turned out to be.
Divided the club just when things were looking a bit rosy for the first time in years.

In all probability we will have 900k of our salary cap wallowing in Reggie's next year, anybody who see's an upside to that has their head up their clacker.

Wests Tigers…...still setting the example when it comes to unprofessionally handling drama's within a club. Yay!

"Our biggest problem is our defence. When JT came to the club … he said publicly that in the past we've been an attacking club, and I find it ironic now that he's talking about lack of cohesion in attack when we've got the second worst defence in the comp. I think the attack is the least of our problems and I think I'm the least of our problems in attack as well."

he shouldnt play for us again

“It is hard when you hear stuff being said about you, false stuff, like what was the word that was used? - ‘cohesion in attack’,” Farah said.

its funny when its true

"I've got a contract for next year and I'm entitled to stay and as long as I do that, like I said, I'll keep doing what is required of me," Farah said.

whats required is that you dont talk shit to the media

“I will continue being professional and try and keep my mouth shut and try not to do anything wrong because I think that is what they are trying to get me to do. But I think I am a bit smarter than that.”

very smart
