The scary thing is that Farah just went ahead and did it

Didn't bother asking anyone

Can you imagine how Ayoub would of been over this if they said no to King Robbie , no doubt they would of sued the club for the 15 k

From the press release: Farah didn’t realise the conflict of schedule when he bid for the tickets, **and received clearance from his club Wests Tigers long ago to attend the match**, which will feature half-time entertainment from Coldplay, Beyonce and Bruno Mars.
–-------------------------------------------------------------
Farah only went ahead and did it after very early on getting permission from the club - don't make up scenarios

Yes but did he get the clearance before or after be bought the tickets

I'm guessing after , because they wouldn't have said yes otherwise , would they

We could say the same about every situation in life if that is how we are and forever trying to be negative. I have noticed that trend amongst my age guys who have not achieved much in life or have had bad divorces - tall poppy syndrome part of it is called or they are always wanting to prove something.

If your scenario was correct I would have hoped they refused him as he is under contract and contracts work both ways but without any evidence or inside word it is only our evil mind working overtime

Now its Tall Poppy Syndrome :unamused:

I reckon every one here who doesn't agree with what's Robbie done doesn't have issue with his on field stuff

But he is always causing issues off field and that's the problem

Players play , end of story They don't get involved in club politics , get involved in coaches being sacked .

Its funny how you never hear stories about other current champion players getting involved and having coaches sacked , having feuds with CEO's , getting involved with board issues

They just get on with it and if they aren't happy they leave

They let their on field performances speak for themselves

Boohoo what an absolute nothing story. Its a nothing match and 1 less chance for Robbie to get injured.

And the Superbowl is a nothing match for a contracted NRL player

As someone else said , why not wait until he was retired ??

What a load of BS. Grant Mayer was the snake who got rid of Mick Potter and anyone who couldnt see that is kidding themsleves. Potter couldnt even choose his assistant coach and support staff…so what does that tell you?

As for Tim Sheens, well his time was beyond overdue. Im yet to seee any evidence that Robbie had anything to do with his sacking. Sheens even picked Robbie for the Kangaroo tour when he became Aust coach which suggests their relationship was fine. People's BLIND agenda against Robbie is quite amusing

Many people agree that the minute the comments that came out prior to the Saints game via Tallis that Potter was a dead man walking

If Farah wasn't smart enough after all his years in the game to realize that anything you say in regards to anyone can become a hand grenade later down the track

And why is Farah having full blown blow ups with CEO's

As I said previously Phil , you don't see every other player at every other club having these issues do you ??

And that says a lot , don't you think ??

and youre blind loyalty to one player not the the team and club is astounding he has been a major problem off field for years now if you think he had nothing to do with potter you ARE BLIND

1) the club will be in 9s mode anyway, which Farah wasn't going to be a part of anyway.

2) Saying no to Farah and making him train is also telling him that he is SOOO important to the club that we can't handle it without him.

3) The more the club trains without him, the more confidence they will gain they can do without him and the more authority it will give Moses and brooks.

4) I don't think it's great that Farah asked to leave but I do think it was good thinking that tigers didn't try stop him. It makes Farah look like he did the wrong thing here, not the Tigers.

5\. I am disappointed in moss leaving, however Panthers showed that moss and Pascoe can't work together, the board must have known this when hiring Pascoe.

BBF,I admire that you can try and find rationale out of the Robbie arguments, now I don't take sides on many arguements ,I give my opinion just as you and many others do,it just irks me that a player of Robbie's calibre can be involved in so much controversy at the club when it comes to the politics of the club….Mick Potter for example as many have stated was restricted in all facets of his job and couldn't do it properly, could he coach ? in my opinion he was a very good coach, especially when he had a horrendous injury toll and the team won some games, also if the club did the right thing and let Mick finish his contract in an orderly manner, and once again this is only my opinion,he would be able to fill the position of football operations manager because he has the smarts to do that job..
Mayer and to a degree Humpty have a lot to answer for regarding our finances etc, however Robbie gets paid to play, that's it,he doesn't employ, coaches,s& c or any admin staff,so why does his name come up so much in the media and controversial episodes within the club?answer is..he loves to be seen and heard,he has to be in the limelight because he thinks he is the WTs,as I said earlier,he is allowed far more than other captains and that's the clubs fault for letting him get away with it for years...
Before anyone thinks I dislike Robbie,I have stated before that he was very good for us early on in his career, but now I can take him or leave him,I don't care anymore...

Actually I'd be happy to see all of our top players given the weekend off prior to the season starts. And I think most clubs would agree.
Of all the nothing games the NRL has, this is the most irrelevant of them all.
Why risk Injury to Farah in a game like this. Whether we like it or not, he did the right thing and asked the club. They said yes.
If you are cheesed off with anyone, it should be the club
He asked, they could have said no
Maybe they would rather see one of their top players get a weekend off, than risking an early injury.

Mate - you are entitled to your opinion. Good on you.

However, I think you would defend him if he were a convicted serial killer and 544 people saw him do the crimes.

^^^ this is not the point were all pissed about .
It's about Farah's commitment to the game he supposedly loves and his commitment to represent Wests Tigers in a game wether it be a Mickey mouse game or not .
I think Wests Tigers management couldn't care less what Farah does anymore , at least they'll be no dramas for a few days while he's gone .

Russell
I was once on a jury for rape in marriage and was actually kicked in the legs numerous times for refusing to almost immediately agree to let the guy off - only reason the case had taken two weeks instead of the one predicted and everyone wanted to get off. Before that the accused was as good as drawn and quartered, esp as one female juror worked at the Rape Crisis Centre at Ballina. The wife had a bit of a case but absolutely no one was interested. I did private investigations later and tonnes of evidence against him but prosecution witnesses were not called, and he was up for many more charges. The cops did not investigate the case for 18 months and earned reprimand from the judge. As claimed he had smashed the missus head through the shower wall, the flat owner in Casino just happened to be old friends of mine and told me of the repairs. But no one was interested. That was the day I lost hope for justice in OZ.

BBF: don't count your chickens, didn't the last WT player to visit USA cause quite a few dramas and still is? And is unlikely to put the Tigers guernsey on again.

i am happy he is not playing, all the so called high priced players scream about burn out yet we play this crap game. there is no need for this game, unless u want to play one each for the irish, italians, greeks and all the others who get no headlines, the game is all about P Correctness.

It is not important football wise but is important for the Aboriginal community, whom in case you don't know the various types of football are an important avenue to provide role models etc. and a way out of hopelessness that is not strictly speaking their own fault. I think it also provides benefit for the Lebanese community whom unite around their tribal players. At least their ticket money is for NRL and not round ball. Accordingly there are Aboriginal and Lebanese teams but no Irish, Italian or Greek teams. It won''t be long before every NRL game they will be acknowledging the traditional owners of whom the oval is on.
