I thought SHEENS had gone, how the hell does potter only pick one prop and one secondrower on the bench, even though its a trail. And the writings on the wall that peanut anasta will get the 6 . Season gone before we start if he gets any were near the 1st 17 I think.

I wonder if this means richards has the jump on Korobete??

Interesting to see Thompson start ahead of Patterson..

I know it is a trial and doesnt mean a whole lot,

Would have thought Cherrington getting the bench spot instead of Luani might mean he has jumped him in the pecking order…

Potter made it clear a while back of his preference for Brooks to be partnered by an experienced halves partner…That is Anasta....besides, Anasta's best game for us last year was when he played 6 and Brooks played 7...to me its logical to start this way as much as I'd like to see a young gun in at 6...Mosses/Austin will get their chance if Anasta is off his game....don't worry about that.

Early days and only a trial. Still over a month before the real thing. On Richards, he was always going to get the jump on Koro, great under the high ball, great kicker and truck loads of experience at the back. Koro will get his chances but Richards should be a special for round one

This is a bit of good fortune imo, I wouldve been against him playing the nines, doubt they'll risk him now….bad luck on the hammy but better now then the week b4 rd 1...

Richards will be starting somewhere in the side his kicking game alone will see to that.

really? but he's been going around promoting and everything… you'd expect that he has 10-20 minutes on day 1\. Plus the requirements on top players playing have to be fulfilled.

There's still an NYC Trial and a NSW Cup Trial to be played before First Grade. I dare say some will be added to the bench for First Grade. I doubt Potter would go into a game with only 2 forwards on the bench.

I think a lot of people have missed the point of what a "Trial" is - it is exactly what it says - it is a trial.
i.e. It is a trial under game conditions where the coach can see how some players go in certain positions that he may not have seen before. Hence Halatau playing hooker - can he do the job coming off the bench during the season for Farah or will he have to call upon Fulton or one of the lower graders etc.
A number of these situations will be played out during the trials - it does not mean it will happen come the real games.
It is a pity Farah and Brooks are not playing - only from the point of view of building the spine combinations during game conditions. You cannot always refine this during training sessions.
Let us hope Mick gets the knowledge out of the trial he is hoping for, the players build a little more cohesion and we do not cop any injuries.
If we can do this it will have been a very successful day.

Just wondering if anyone knows who will be in the nsw cup team given we have 2 first grade squads playing here and in Alice springs - who is left for the nsw cup squad

Is Halatau seriously our option at #9 in the absence of Farah?

Good point …. Also on the captaincy, if something happens to Farah does it go to Anasta ? I'd rather see Fulton have the c next to his name than Anasta.

Most of the players that have gone to Alice Springs are the state cup players.

Fulton hasn't been named in either squads Knuckles , guessing an injury ??

Futons injured,

I thought farah was playing in the 9s. He promoted the comp.

Richards will have to be in the side.

I'm looking forward seeing how Austin goes. Really think he will be good for us.

Yeah probably …. But what I meant was if something happened to Robbie they are more likely to give it to Anasta when the comp starts than Liam ..... But I'd much rather they gave it to Liam .... He's earnt it after all these years.

They really need to do an injury update on the WT website. As it stands Galloway, Brooks, Fulton, Moltzen, Farah, Simona and apparently Sue are all injured. Thats 6 players I would all want in pur round 1 team. Bit nervous but hopefully these injuries are just minor niggling injuries and will be done and dusted come round 1
