Lets get Bellamy….oh hang on,he moved Smith to half when their FB was out.

And look how well that has gone for them the past few weeks

LOL we all know it was ridiculous but seeing every combination he has used this year is just hilarious. Someone needs to show him that.

**"Sheens was pleased with the combination of Farah and Marshall in the halves and Iosefa at hooker in the second half in the loss to the Cowboys"**

This says it all really - Sheens is pleased with mediocrity. How many points did we score in the second half against the Cowboys? Oh, that's right - NONE!

"People are thinking I'll play (Robbie) Farah there but I'm unlikely to because it's weakening the nine.

"Masada (Iosefa) went very well at nine but Robbie Farah's one of the dominant nines in the game so I don't want to take him out of there if I can help it.

He's lost the plot.

Tim Sheens moves Robbie Farah to half to partner five-eighth Benji Marshall

Tim Sheens; in round 5.

“We had no Robbie Farah. Liam Fulton played 9 and Tommy Humble played 7\. We were down on troops and we lost Gareth Ellis,’’ Sheens said.

“Although they beat us with a last minute field goal in extra time, I think everybody knows on the day we led them by 12 points with 7 minutes to go, we should of won that game.

“We have got a lot of confidence from that. They had a full strength side in that day.”

Ooookay… so if we simply get Gareth back and replace Liam with Robbie, wouldn't this be a good side to play Souths with again?

This coach is like a mad scientist experimenting in a lab, it could lead nowhere in the end, when simple, known combinations are likely to produce results.

The Weststigers Board really must get rid of this useless coach and selector. PLEASE.

He has the best 5/8 in the world and one of the best hookers in the world and he has moved both of them????

WTF!!!!

WTF!!!!

It's really got me shaking my head seeing that there are halfback options in the club. The more I think about the more I say WTF

Sheens last week: "Moving Farah to half weakens the 9."

Sheens today: "Farah will play halfback."

Sick of this garbage. How hard is it to pick players in their positions?

**I already made this post in the coaching plan thread, but its probably more relevant here:**

I might be singular here in saying this,

But Farah in the halves isn't that bad.

Case for it is - he practically played halfback AND 5/8th during origin 3 anyway, as both Pearce and Carney went missing and almost steered the ship home.

I could stomach Farah at halfback with Marshall at 5/8th as they both know each other extremely well.

His kicking game is very good. His cut out pass is gold, he takes on the line and is strong enough to bust through at times, he understands our flow and structure - really guys, whats not to like?

Miller has a great kicking game in the under 20's - but as much as I think this kid has potential, everytime he seems to kick a ball in FG he shanks it and ends up dribbling it in behind the line… maybe the FG ball has a different shape to the NYC Ball...

This would be a much different pairing to the disaster which was Farah in the halves circa 2006-2008 due to the years of play they have hadd together, and lets face it, their combinations together with Moltzen are at times breathtaking.

Iosefa is more than adequate at dummy half - he's strong, and isn't just a passenger - if he spies an opening or a blindside play, he'll go for it.

The other thing is at worst case, Farah could inject himself in at dummy half practically any time he likes to keep Souffs on their toes as well - It's not as if Iosefa would totally DOMINATE the dummy-half role.

Flame away if you like guys, but I think it could work - I just wouldn't do it forever though - he's a world class hooker through and through.

Its dominating the ruck which I see as an important factor of this game UD. We know Robbie 'will' slot in and slot out throughout the game, but to keep the pressure of our ruck speed it needs 100% focus. The other concern I have with rotating dummy halves, is both are vastly different and the forwards will require to adjust their runs depending on who is in there…

Doesn't sound like much, but as fatigue sets in, timing a run can sometimes be a bigger challenge than it looks without having to worry about who is feeding the ball.

Ioseffa has played alot of halfback this year for Mounties, when not half he played pivot. He has played alot more half this year than Farah, why not play him there if you really want him in the side?

I hear you UD, and I remember watching Robbie play a halfback blinder down at Canberra a few years back, but the rest of his games there were pretty ordinary.

And I agree that having Iosefa in the team is a good thing, perhaps he should just be put to 1/2 and left there?

Well I tipped it on Tuesday that dopey would move Farah to the 7, any chance we had of winning this most important game just went out the window thanks to the so called coach why did we ever buy humble, Chisholm or miller was a great big waste of time and money, Sheens is an absolute joke as a coach i for 1 am sick of the same &rap this team goes out and plays out sheens game plan we need a coach who is prepared to give some young fellas a go you can count on one hand sorry one finger the kids who have been promoted from the 20s 1 tedesco and he is a great talent but Tim only bloods 1 per year.

I thought we bought Iosefa to cover 9,7,6 well we need a 7, so why not play him there>>>???? :bash

I have read all the comments on this subject and I agree with just about all. Sheens has been like this for years and thankfully everyone is starting to see what he is like. I wanted him out at least 3 years ago but then you could not say a bad word about him..Remember last time he tried Benji at half…he finally had to cave to public demand at the time and put him back to 5/8 and whoa!! Benji starting running the ball and we started winning again. But he hated to admit he was wrong and his mate Royce said that he would still be a half...but he is not. He is that good he is still throwing the final pass for most of our tries but he is not running and he is our best running back by a mile.

He didnt need Sironen, or anyone, outside him. He needed someone inside him.He needs the space.
Sheens is killing me with his selections, and has been for years.

I will throw my hand in with the minority and say it is the right move.

Iosefa has been going great for mine so its just keeping a form player in the side. He could have played half I guess; might still do.

I just watched the news,Sheens spin is outstanding,"I didn't want to do it,but injuries forced my hand",what a load of BS,he had Humble,Miller,Chisolm and Moltzen to play half, and yet he moves our most dangerous player.
Robbie seemed less than impressed when interviewed,he has stated many times he doesn't like to play at 7,yet here we go again, please just resign Tim,or Humphreys get some metal and sack this bloke,he has lost the plot.

you need at least one good half or one good hooker who can take control and steer the team around.
sheens has done what he said he doesn't wanna do: weaken one position for another.
farah MAY turn out to be a revelation at 7, that's not the point, the point is, we have 6 more games to go and and he wants farah at 7, iosefa at hooker for the rest of the season… it's a joke. this is not the time to "experiment"

I know Robbie doesn't like playing 7 but lets face it he's better than the current NSW origin half - if he did play 7 all the time he would play origin there.

I am not too worried. I think you will see Iosefa and Robbie swapping from time to time
