Farah to SOUTH SYDNEY in 2017..OFFICIAL..

I'm not too sure if I would want this to eventuate or not.
We all saw how badly Tomkins failed, Warriors paid a large salary and transfer fee to land him too.
And over there Tomkins is a better player than Hardaker is.

Robbie won't provide much to us next year and will continue the destabilisation. I would keep deano for one more, use liddle and ballin when possible and bolster our backline with hardaker.

Even if he didn't work out. It's better than having Robbie here for another year.

Can't see how the numbers could possibly work unless Farah does the Tigers a huge favour. If he's on the reported 900k for 2017 the Tigers will have to eat, I'd guess, a minimum of 300-400k unless Farah agrees to waive the last year of his deal - which he has no reason to do. Then Leeds want a 500k equivalent fee for Hardaker.

So unless Leeds are desperate to get rid of Hardaker (and if they are why do they want a fee?) all the bad money is going in one direction. It's not a swap because there is no offsetting value. It's like saying I'll swap my mother in law for your car, and also you have to buy my mother in law a new car.

They are prepared to take a hit to get rid of Farah , they would have taken 400 k for Farah last season

Hardaker wants to test himself in the NRL

We can only hope , but Farah I reckon will stay on and finish his contract at the WT's, he and his manager keep repeating the same thing

Robbie won't let anyone force him out

No problem with this if it means we have an extra 900k in the bank for next yr. IF this is what the club is doing then they need to be working their heads and have a plan of picking up a hooker too because Halatau is retiring and the jury is out on how Ballin will return from a second knee reco. Would be great if we could get Seggy, or even Mitch Rein as he's been rumoured to be out of favour at Saints.

Wouldn't be surprised if something eventuates with Super League.
**When everything hit the fan last year and Taylor wanted Farah gone straightaway it was said he asked to stay for a year and then he would leave for Super League and save the club some money.**
We all know that offer was knocked back and the battle was begun.
Still think he will take that option, though.
Segeyaro would be great for us as Liddle gets some experience.
Think we can now forget other options after the Ballin debacle, Halatau (should be) retiring and Cherrington on the outer.

After all the vicious things that have been said about Robbie when he actually tried to save the club money but they kicked him in the teeth instead.

Does anyone know what the cap rules are if someone goes to the uk? We would obviously still owe the full wage over and above what another team will pay, but I'm not sure about the cap given its not like a player transfer locally.

If there is any truth to this rumour then Leeds would probably take the transfer of Farah in lieu of the 300K transfer fee. If that wasn't part of the proposal then we really wouldn't be getting any consideration out of the deal, we would just happen to be signing Hardaker and they would happen to be signing Farah.

I've heard of this bloke, haven't seen him play though but looking at his highlight reel he looks to excel of those offloads with a broken defensive line, looks to be a better fullback then centre.

His agent compared him to Dugan, the Dugan to centre experiment failed quite badly, Dugan is better when he's more around the ball through the middle, I feel the same would go with Hardaker. I wouldn't want to waste that 500 something thousand knowing we already have a great fullback in Tedesco!

But if he is still a solid center, you could easily move Kev out to the wing with Zak coming in at centre.

Would be a good deal if we can get rid of Farah, have some space and bring in a nice young gun like Hardaker who's only 24.

I wouldn't mind our team being like this for next year

1\. Tedesco
2\. Nofoaluma
3\. Hardaker
4\. Simona
5\. Naiqama
6\. Moses
7\. Brooks
8\. Woods
9\. Ballin
10\. Sue
11\. Lawrence
12\. Aloiai
13\. Taylor

14\. Seumanufagai
15\. Grant
16\. Lovett
17\. Chee-Kam/ Liddle

Provided we don't get any other signings this looks like a very strong team too me.

You could not possibly say Ballin would play all season. He is nearly middle 30s with a bad knee and could only play 2 games this year.It was a gamble to sign him for this year after an acl, next year we have to pay his full contract i think(no top up from manly).I wish him well but i fail to see how he will be an asset

May be a nice bloke, and no one likes to see an injury Like that, but it's plain stupidity to be putting too much reliance on him playing at all , never mind at the level required in first grade.
If he does come back , there could be value as a player, but the probability would have to be low , to say the least.

I haven't seen much of Hardaker at all, but paying big dollars for talent from the ESL always worries me. It's a decent gamble. Tomkins certainly wasn't a world beater in the NRL and he was the best player in super league. I'm pretty sure Chris Sandow is the favourite for the Man of Steel this year, so Hardaker being last years MOS doesn't mean much. I'm sure he's a decent player, but we would want to be getting the best part of the deal if it's true and have money left over if we're taking the risk in my opinion.

Balmain had a couple of good ones in the 1980s

Schofield at his peak was close to the best player in the comp at the time. David Toplis was a freak, I think scored five try in a match against Newtown, Big Andy Courier great in attack and a liability in defence. Balmain always liked to have at leat one pom and the magpies had some good ones to but the pommie forwards do seem to go better than the backs

**CHICKO SUPER LEAGUE BOUND**
>
Out-of-favour hooker James Segayaro may have played his last game for Penrith and could be joining English club Leeds as early as this week.
>
Dropped recently by coach Anthony Griffin, the controversial hooker was a ‘no show’ for the Panthers in the NSW Cup on Saturday.
>
He was not injured and Penrith sources have told me that he is ready to pack his bags and take up a lucratuve offer with Leeds.
>
The big spending club is in a dogfight to avoid relegation from Super League and have told Segayaro they want him on deck as soon as possible.
>
Several NRL clubs have also been interested in the Panthers star, but were put off by his off-field antics.
>
Segayaro’s move is set to put an end to long-running speculation that another hooker who is offside with his club – the Tigers’ Robbie Farah – was set to join the Rhinos.
