I wish people would stop throwing up the 900K, as it is only arrived at because the contract is backloaded. He is really on about 600K, if you even it out. Part of the discrepancy comes from the fact that he too a huge cut in pay to help the club stay in the cap.
Whilst that's true, it's irrelevant. Fact is, his cap figure for 2016 and 2017 is around the $900-$950k mark.
He'll get his cash either way - the contract is guaranteed in that sense.
If he does go to Leeds in 2017 and gets paid $x, WT will effectively be on the hook for $950k - $x for 2017\. That could well be a huge saving in the cap, which could make a big difference in the club's ambition for top four next year.
I have more chance of winning gold in the 100m at this years Olympics than the Tigers do of making the top 4 next year.
Without wanting to make judgement on your athletic ability, I'd tend to agree.
That said, they've (board and Pascoe) publicly said it's their goal, and thus they'll be held accountable to said goal.
