Farah to SOUTH SYDNEY in 2017..OFFICIAL..

We're better off without him, financially and clearly on the field as well, we've won more games without him this year.

He's better off going, certainly if they give him 3 years, because he wouldn't get that anywhere in Australia.

If Farah stays in the NRL he should learn from what Bunji is going through in that no club will offer him a contract…for the money he wants

He get picked for SOO 2\. Maybe not the third though. i most neutral NSW supporters at my work think he was one of our better players. They thought Fifita & Reynolds don't deserve a recall.

Farah made 52 tackles in origin, most don't make that in a club game

The guy is getting on but he did have a crack

As for going to Leeds, hope it works out for him

I thought he had a reasonable game - there were no real standouts in a dull game. The tackles he makes where he hits low or is second man are effective but when he hits the man around the chest to stop ball movement are embarrassing. He invariably gets carried for a further 10 mtrs - I know this is also the fault of the other tacklers not hitting low but it just looks bad.

Take the offer from Leeds, as you may not get another one.
If it means leaving soon then go.
You need to set yourself up, financially for after footy life, because no one else will do it for you..

Last night on the fox NRL sport report, James Hooper said the Origin result might influence Robbies decision playing SuperLeague or NRL.

Who would have thought? Hooper is the smartest person alive

Yeah, similat thoughts myself.Stating the obvious he is/was a great footballer and had a good SoO game, but, like Benji, poor attitude the last few years IMO.The Club has to come first and if that means he is moving on ,so be it.

It would be best for both parties if he did leave at the end of the season.

He could play the final year of his contract with us and get his 950k, and at the end of that probably retire. Or he could sign a 3 year $2 million+ deal to play in the UK. Financially he'd be far better off going to the UK.

Last game of the season is at LO, so would be a perfect send off for him.

He won't be playing Origin next season, one way or another. If the Blues win (lol) he would step down as a winner. When we lose it will be time to rebuild for the future.

The danger is Segeyaro. Leeds want someone to play now. Segeyaro could be free to play immediately and would fill their need for a hooker. If Segeyaro can get another deal in the NRL then that would remove him as an option for the hooker they need.

Two scenarios I would be happy with:
A. Robbie gets to play out the year and despite all the bs in the last couple of years, we send him out with a bang and give him the respect he deserves as a club legend
B. Robbie leaves mid-year and we sign Beau Scott mid-year

I could live with both these options too - I think we would see more team wins with option B thou.

the thing in his favour atm is that he doesn't have a young family in sydney right now. he has an extended family of brothers, cousins etc. but most players at this stage of life have to worry about whether their family will be OK with moving.

it's a win/win/win for all really. farah gets to go to superleage (to his beloved Liverpool), earn some real $$$$ there, experience a different lifestyle and then come back and start a family in sydney in a few years.

again, the sooner he leaves, the more people view him as a legend.

I wish people would stop throwing up the 900K, as it is only arrived at because the contract is backloaded. He is really on about 600K, if you even it out. Part of the discrepancy comes from the fact that he too a huge cut in pay to help the club stay in the cap.

Whilst that's true, it's irrelevant. Fact is, his cap figure for 2016 and 2017 is around the $900-$950k mark.
He'll get his cash either way - the contract is guaranteed in that sense.

If he does go to Leeds in 2017 and gets paid $x, WT will effectively be on the hook for $950k - $x for 2017\. That could well be a huge saving in the cap, which could make a big difference in the club's ambition for top four next year.

The best thing for the Tigers is that Robbie takes up the offer at Leeds. We are well covered at 9 with Ballin signed for next year and looking good at the moment and with the emergence of Liddle, the future looks good at 9\. The flipside is that the stress on our salary cap is relieved significantly and the club can make some proper recruitment plans.

I have more chance of winning gold in the 100m at this years Olympics than the Tigers do of making the top 4 next year.

Without wanting to make judgement on your athletic ability, I'd tend to agree.
That said, they've (board and Pascoe) publicly said it's their goal, and thus they'll be held accountable to said goal.

It's VERY average, at best.

I remember when Robbie used to win us games single handedly and during those times, he was an inspirational leader and a player we needed on the park. With that sort of form, you would pay $950K a season all day long, but let's put it into perspective. Thurston is on $1,000,000 a season…does Farah offer what Thurston does? At this stage in his career, my own opinion is no.

At 32, Robbie is nearing the end as ALL players do. As we age, our body simply can't do the same things as they used to and that affects performance, then we retire because we can't mix it like we used to.

Robbie is nowhere near his best form and I think if Leeds want him, he should go there and prolong his career by a few more years. I know I would.

For the club, I'd love to have $950k spare which could pick us up 2-3 quality additions to our roster. No more fringe players - genuine first graders.

Fingers crossed it all works out or we'll be writing next year off as well!

I don't think thruston is worth that amount. I don't see how they can pay him that amount and get a decent team around him.
