All seems a bit futile. Hard to argue that it was to relieve cap pressure with that outcome if accurate - certainly makes you question the validity of it as a business decision.
Clearly things ecscalated out of control when RF was dropped after the Penrith game- a game in which he played a vital role in a great team performance.
Dumbest decision all year - in my humble opinion - it's done now.

With go & co the club has adopted a corporate approach to finding resolutions, all the lingo and talk points that way.. Robs downfall was that he's never worked in such an environment..

I see it in my work place, a whole lot of sales talk about unity, motivation and culture yet we are bleeding millions.. managers come and go and aren't held accountable, the ones that survive the longest are the ones with the best sales skills and now how to collude with the right people with very little if non added value to the business.. This is one of those decisions in my opinion..

Not sure the club would have been happy if the players sat up there next to Rob after they just got smashed in such an important game

Paying 12% of our salary cap for nothing???
To me it's ridiculous.

It's possible there are factors other than salary cap pressure that have not and likely will not be disclosed due to confidentiality. We can all post and argue about the other factors till there is no more bandwidth for the website and will still never know.

Not sure how much of the payout will be counted towards the cap next season (isn't it based on the NRL's market valuation?), but it's the action of the club that counts. If the figures are correct, the club has paid $750k for him to leave the club and inherently that means that the club believes its position is no worse off in making that decision.

The point was to get rid of Farah…that was their main goal. It was always going to cost us minimum $500-$600k.

Ballin and Grant are on subsidized contracts from Manly & Souths.....we will probably pickup another 2-3 players in the off season ( maybe 1-2 of them could also be subsidized )......hence it will all work itself out in the wash. Out of a $6M salary cap we should still have some money to attract a few solid players.

2018 we are clean so its all coming to an end. For the WT not having the Farah/Taylor distraction is the 1st positive.....we can't have a war within the club.

I do feel for Robbie F....he is a club legend....but no player is bigger than the club. In saying that how can we build a culture in the club.....if we don't respect our past. Difficult questions....I'm sure Melb wouldn't treat Smith/Cronk or Slater the way Farah was treated.

But we need to move on.......pay whatever it costs and start moving forward to 2017.

No way is that market value and shouldn't be registered.

People can't blame the coach for this, it's up to the board to take care of these formalities and they failed miserably.
Also, where is the proof? This is obviously an Ayoub piece so I'll wait for real confirmation.

$200k to divide your supporter base in half, get rid of a club legend and strenghten an opposition. I think the club need to tell us who was really behind this. Is it JT and his personality clash with farah which his ego wouldnt let go. Or was it the higher powers who used JT as their puppet to make this happen. Whoever it was needs to be held accountable for it and shouldnt be here anymore. Our highest paid player in 2017 will be playing for another club. I dont think that has ever happened in the history of the NRL, and nor will it happen again. What a laughing stock we are, 1st for that performance yesterday and 2nd for this whole debacle to save $200k.

Where does it say that moving on Farah was all about saving cap money? Sure, it may have been part of it, but if he was Cameron Smith I doubt they'd be trying to move him on.. I do feel bad for Farah, was sad seeing him walk around Leichhardt to farewell the club and fans, but maybe there really were issues.. Yes he's a good player, but I think it's more than a coincidence that the team really seemed to lift and unite after he'd been dropped.

So paying $750k to move Farah was worth it?? Lets remember we won the last 2 games farah played in with him coming off the bench. Lets not forget how he got mobbed by his team mates after scoring tries in both those games. They made it so obvious they didnt want him and they lost any bargaining power they had. $200k what an absolute joke. 12% of your salary cap playing for another club, are you kidding me.
