This is the inevitable outcome.
Paying 12% of our salary cap for nothing???
To me it's ridiculous.
Anyway plenty on this forum have supported Taylor in this, although very quite on this thread I notice!!

I agree with what you have written. As you have noted, the absence of the JT fan boys is noticeable.

It's not about being a fan boy for anyone in particular.
It's about supporting the club regardless of who is in charge.

Give him a chance. I don't think he is the best but we would do worse by sacking him. If we sacked him now who with a better resume would come here?

Let the contract run it's course and start the interview process free of all the drama the revolving door of coaches does.

Toovey and Cleary have both coached teams to grand finals? So how could that be worse?

Does it really matter ???

The point was to get rid of Farah…that was their main goal. It was always going to cost us minimum $500-$600k.

Ballin and Grant are on subsidized contracts from Manly & Souths.....we will probably pickup another 2-3 players in the off season ( maybe 1-2 of them could also be subsidized )......hence it will all work itself out in the wash. Out of a $6M salary cap we should still have some money to attract a few solid players.

2018 we are clean so its all coming to an end. For the WT not having the Farah/Taylor distraction is the 1st positive.....we can't have a war within the club.

I do feel for Robbie F....he is a club legend....but no player is bigger than the club. In saying that how can we build a culture in the club.....if we don't respect our past. Difficult questions....I'm sure Melb wouldn't treat Smith/Cronk or Slater the way Farah was treated.

But we need to move on.......pay whatever it costs and start moving forward to 2017.

Who,s Ballin…..oh yeah

Strange that confidential negotiations have found there way into the Media…If true the NRL should be having a close look at the new Clubs books...

if souths pay 450k, and we pay 500k + 250k for this year. shouldnt only 500k be on our cap for next year?

250k is just from this years money which we still owe him, correct me if im misunderstanding

We've had two years of putrescence under JT. He hasn't made the 8 and he does not get another year unless he did. We'll see now if Pascoe and the Board are serious about taking the club forward or are they happy with the mediocrity.

Balin the man who has has 2 season ending knee problems in his last 2 years and he is in his mid 30s another masterstroke. It will be interesting to see how long he plays for next year.

How can the NRL register a 250k contract?
No way is that market value and shouldn't be registered.

People can't blame the coach for this, it's up to the board to take care of these formalities and they failed miserably.
Also, where is the proof? This is obviously an Ayoub piece so I'll wait for real confirmation.

JTwas the bloke who started this.
His grab for money has backfired big time

Of course, its a conspiracy. this is an SMH story, are they on the list now of papers now that we dont believe.
We love a good conspiracy
Be good to see Robbie back on the field again next year, we should like that, we're paying for him.
Another piece of great WTs AND Taylors work.

Just wondering where you had us finishing after the first Raiders game?

It's blatantly obvious that its personal for guys like you, GCT, Hobbo etc. 15th to 9th does not justify a sacking. Another bottom 4 finish would have. And before you reply with ''who got us to 15th'', i'll remind you the yr before we finished 13th, and the yr before that 15th. It wasn't the drop so many of you like to make out it was. 2016 is the highest we've finished on the ladder in 5 yrs. To most rational football minds, that would be enough to earn another yr.

well…..
paying 750k is better than paying out 950k or having him sit in reserves for 2017 and all this crap going on for another 18 months ! ! !

im not so sure why some people are shocked.
getting him out of the club at any cost was the mission

now, the club and the coach should have no distractions or excuses at all, regardless of who anyone believes created them.

i believe 2017 is going to be a really tough year for this team.
hopefully we're all talking about the actual footy though !

Where does it say that moving on Farah was all about saving cap money? Sure, it may have been part of it, but if he was Cameron Smith I doubt they'd be trying to move him on.. I do feel bad for Farah, was sad seeing him walk around Leichhardt to farewell the club and fans, but maybe there really were issues.. Yes he's a good player, but I think it's more than a coincidence that the team really seemed to lift and unite after he'd been dropped.

Smith is a far superior player and has got better with age…

It would be nice if all contracts were binding and ran there course then there would be far less dramas and a lot more accountability.

Maybe the JT fan boys can organise a chook raffle to raise much needed funds for the club

Can we afford them? Do they even want to come?
If we sack Taylor we have to pay out his final year too.

Not to mention the fact we lost Blair, Thompson Fulton, Gavet and Austin after that year too. There isn't a coach on the planet that could have made us competitive in 2015.

I don't think that's required. A couple of beers at Wests Ashfield would suffice….

It reminds me of when we first merged and had to recruit from scratch. We have an opportunity to recruit well for 2018 - let's look to that. If we make the finals next year it'll be a bonus.

Easier to shine in a system like Melbourne's than what we have offered up to Farah over the years. Put Smith in our system then it would be fair to compare.
