Farah to SOUTH SYDNEY in 2017..OFFICIAL..

Rothfield is having a big swipe at Taylor today about Robbie.
How predictable from the beetroot. Paid lackey.

For the last 5 years Buzz has been bagging the you no what out of Farah.

Don't know what the terms are, but a deal was always going to be done as Robbie was either leaving the club or feigning injury for another year if he wanted to vavoid reserve grade. Anything less than the full contract amount on top of him departing is simply a bonus as far as WT club is concerned.

How can the NRL register a 250k contract?
No way is that market value and shouldn't be registered.

People can't blame the coach for this, it's up to the board to take care of these formalities and they failed miserably.
Also, where is the proof? This is obviously an Ayoub piece so I'll wait for real confirmation.

By the sound of the SMH story, Souths were also paying the extra 250k
As well as more to Robbie.
SMH put the total for next year at 1.2 mill.
And then a second yearOn his contract.

So if they push Sironen out as well (which has been suspected for a while), we'll be playing close to $1mil under the salary cap just because of Taylor's personal vendettas.

It's extremely stupid salary cap management, whether we are successful and reach the top 8 next year or not. We're also going to have to re-sign Tedesco, Moses & Brooks next year, with all of them knowing the club treats it's long serving players like crap & without a marquee signing since Humphreys left the club. Is this really good management? Are Pascoe & Taylor just leaving it all for O'Neill to clean up?

It's not about being a fan boy for anyone in particular.
It's about supporting the club regardless of who is in charge.

Give him a chance. I don't think he is the best but we would do worse by sacking him. If we sacked him now who with a better resume would come here?

Let the contract run it's course and start the interview process free of all the drama the revolving door of coaches does.

We've had two years of putrescence under JT. He hasn't made the 8 and he does not get another year unless he did. We'll see now if Pascoe and the Board are serious about taking the club forward or are they happy with the mediocrity.

Call me a JT fanboy if you like, I couldn't care less. What I do know is that at whatever price, it was worth every cent!!! Free at last.

**Calling fans JT fanboys makes them feel good. They don't get that just because we support the coach doesn't necessarily mean we think he is the clubs saviour. I mean, I'm not convinced he's much of a coach at all. But the fact is, he's the coach and we can't keep changing coaches as we have been. I'd rather we still had Potter. I'd rather a lot of people than JT, but he's what we have and it's great that the club has decided to stick with him for stability. The problem (as the club sees it) has now gone**.

As a matter of interest - does anyone know if RF's still sitting on the scoreboard? Thought we might find him this morning trying to create more headlines before he leaves.

Agree 100%

There was nothing wrong with him sitting on the score board.
Did you read the article in the Australian.
Not one negative word about the club.

Rothfield is so low. He just came back this week after suspended by DT for three weeks re his dealings with the brothel king and barred big punter, Hayson.

I was going to devote a thread to old beetroot head and his agendas . quite frankly Im surprised he still has a job , but anyway here goes ..

preseason prediction … JT & Marina Go are gone by March ...

apart from a lot of grog , I wonder what changed Buzz's mind so much . Given the recent investigation into his relationship with the brothel king who knows who else is donating funds to Buzz's tab account to write negative articles in the DT ...

Nope you got it wrong. We don't like you Taylor fan boys because you support him over the team. Results don't matter tiny little victories over a player you don't like matters most. You guys don't even care how we played yesterday. You just loved seeing Farah not out there.

Stryker Farah is gone, but the clean up will not be complete till JT follows him out the door, then accountability will be a real thing, not just a word and the club can really start to improve. 😛ray:

I agree Taylor has to go he is useless and has actively made players worse. Brooks's career hasn't just stalled, it's devolved. Kevvie was smashing people at the start of last year, now he looks like a retard chasing butterflies in defence. Simona looks confused. He used to get the ball and run scoring blistering length of the field tries. Now he tries to setup plays which he muffs consistently….the forward pack gets softer every month.

Taylor is a conman and is poison to this club.

That last article has to be the most hilarious thing i've ever read when you think about the perfect 180 he did. What embarrassing journalism.

In what way is this a surprise? Many of us have been saying all along this would be the outcome.

Thankyou Wests Tigers for putting the club, supporters and the game in general through this bullcrap for over a year now. Spend that 200k wisely….you've earned it!

Its no surprise…everyone knew this was coming

As for the figure, well..silly people rely on media speculation...we are all blind throwing darts as to the actual terms

The thing is, while the support for Robbie yesterday was enormous, Im sure when we are pushing or in the eight in the future, there'll be another 18/19k at LO cheering the boys on.
The club is always bigger than any individual and while its going to be an expensive exercise, the club know exactly what they want...wether its right or wrong remains to be seen

Does it really matter ???

The point was to get rid of Farah…that was their main goal. It was always going to cost us minimum $500-$600k.

Ballin and Grant are on subsidized contracts from Manly & Souths.....we will probably pickup another 2-3 players in the off season ( maybe 1-2 of them could also be subsidized )......hence it will all work itself out in the wash. Out of a $6M salary cap we should still have some money to attract a few solid players.

2018 we are clean so its all coming to an end. For the WT not having the Farah/Taylor distraction is the 1st positive.....we can't have a war within the club.

I do feel for Robbie F....he is a club legend....but no player is bigger than the club. In saying that how can we build a culture in the club.....if we don't respect our past. Difficult questions....I'm sure Melb wouldn't treat Smith/Cronk or Slater the way Farah was treated.

But we need to move on.......pay whatever it costs and start moving forward to 2017.

Agree with this point of view re contracts and costs.

But I don't think you can compare our outfit with the Storm. Firstly, they would never have been so dumb to backload contracts the way we did.

And re building a culture here, maybe we don't want a culture of ego, sooking, and boys' club??

"Firstly, they would never have been so dumb to backload contracts the way we did."

no they just had 2 sets of contracts, one for the NRL another for the player. Both different.
Also if we had Smith we wouldn't be getting rid of him!!!

Has anybody from the club said that we are paying RF $750,000 or is it just speculation?

@tigers2005 said:
So paying $750k to move Farah was worth it?? Lets remember we won the last 2 games farah played in with him coming off the bench. Lets not forget how he got mobbed by his team mates after scoring tries in both those games. They made it so obvious they didnt want him and they lost any bargaining power they had. $200k what an absolute joke. 12% of your salary cap playing for another club, are you kidding me.

There is no way of knowing if we would of won more games or not if Robbie had of played but of the last 7 games of the year we won 4 and lost 3 , we scored 138 points and had had 169 points put on us. I can't see this as being the positive end to the season people are claiming. I wish Robbie had of played but it got to a point where this was going to be detrimental to the team. Now he is gone JT has to go or we will have another year like this which won't help the club. We need to start fresh.
We are all wanting a better defensive team which is far more aggressive but in my opinion you can't teach this. You either have it in you or you don't. As a kid going thru the grades i could tackle no problem but didn't have the mongrel to get in the oppositions faces. I tried but it wasn't in me. I see the same with our forwards. Woods hasn't tackled anyone in anger his whole life, Chris Lawrence has great technique but is too nice a guy and Jessie Sue talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk as he gets man handled far too often.
With the loose changed we have picked up from letting Robbie go I really can't see us getting that aggressive forward we need or the quality centre. It will be bargain basement time again fur us.

Yes , the Club (and coach) know what they want. However the way they have dealt with Robbie and Ado Carr and others has been embarrassing. As I turn up to work, the first comment was " didn't the WTs learn anything with the way they booted Sheens out?".

Firstly Mods, can all current and future Farah topics be moved to the NRL page as he is no longer a Wests Tigers player. Thank you

Secondly whilst Farah got support there yesterday and people cheered his previous contributions to the club, considering he was never selected, the 'farewell' was never announced till the game was Sold Out, I really don't see how this mess will affect the Tigers club at all. It's our biggest Leichhardt crowd in years and came despite everyone knowing that Farah was not being picked.

So what if the club only saves $200k plus. Farah misses at least 6 games a year every single year, through injury, Origin, Stress Leave or that damn Mystery Virus… Just like any player he could go down in the first few minutes of the season and you are still carrying that amount in your salary cap.

JT deserves the 3rd year. No Finals no extension. There will be plenty of coaches looking for a gig so you could theoretically wait till Rd 26 next year. People seem to have focused on Farah and forgotten about how many other problems we had, how much talent Taylor had to dispose of just to make us salary cap compliant and yet after all those cuts we made 9th. Absolute pass mark. Yes the Farah crap could have been handled better, but it wasn't. Sheens warned us when he got the punt, Potter tried his best, Taylor actually did it.

If anyone thinks that having Farah there this year would have led us to the finals, can you please outline why in the last 4 years with Farah as captain we finished 10th, 15th, 13th, 15th? What a leader of men!
