Farah to SOUTH SYDNEY in 2017..OFFICIAL..

And why didn't he dig his heels in this time? He already failed once calling the clubs bluff. Once bitten, twice shy.

So if they push Sironen out as well (which has been suspected for a while), we'll be playing close to $1mil under the salary cap just because of Taylor's personal vendettas.

It's extremely stupid salary cap management, whether we are successful and reach the top 8 next year or not. We're also going to have to re-sign Tedesco, Moses & Brooks next year, with all of them knowing the club treats it's long serving players like crap & without a marquee signing since Humphreys left the club. Is this really good management? Are Pascoe & Taylor just leaving it all for O'Neill to clean up?

Blame The previous Board and the previous CEO for the Farah saga ..JT inherited this mess

You can't blame the previous board for $1mil worth of playing talent playing for other clubs, that is a decision made solely by the current football staff & management. When we previously paid players who were playing at another club, it was done to sign one of the best second rowers in the world at the time in Adam Blair. While ultimately that didn't work out, our cap management at the time was done to sign a marquee player not to further personal vendettas.

This whole 'blame the guys before us' rubbish is really starting to wear thin. The previous board were good enough for us to win a premiership, sign marquee players in back-to-back seasons, have the most valuable brand & playing jersey in the competition & get us the closest we've ever been to breaking even. Independents on the board were vital for our continued growth, but the current set up at our club was the result of management in charge of the club who have never worked in rugby league & have no understanding of the business & industry.

I don't know why we keep banging on about previous administrations, every new member be it administration or coach knew what the situation was at the club and still decided to take the job! So get on with it guys and make us proud to be tigers supports! is what I think.

And to an extent they are doing it, is the progress quick enough maybe not, are they archiving maybe, but not fast enough!

I get a laugh when the Farah lovers keep bringing the money aspect into the argument for the demise of there hero !
If an organisation is willing to pay out $750k to rid itself of an employee what does that tell you about the employee? ..750k is chicken feed on the total outlay of the whole club pa.
I am sure that figure is way of the mark just another figure pulled out of a hat to sell papers !
Farah has been punted …yes all the Farah lovers not for the money ,the ego maniac is gone long live the Weststigers

Still kicking the man when hes down. That 'ego maniac', arguably the best player to ever wear our colours deserves better than some anonymous bitter clowns constantly bad mouthing him. If you think that removing him will flick a switch and turn this motley crew into a top 4 side then your are deluded. We certainly would not have won with him in the side last Sunday as the Raiders are three steps above us as a playing squad however…he would have been one of only a couple of players that had a go. He deserves respect for the fact he always tried and didnt dog it when the going got tough.

Thats the aspect this squad will be all the poorer for with his departure....apart from not having more cash to buy a decent prop.

Same thing goes if you think it will happen under a new coach.

well…..
paying 750k is better than paying out 950k or having him sit in reserves for 2017 and all this crap going on for another 18 months ! ! !

im not so sure why some people are shocked.
getting him out of the club at any cost was the mission

now, the club and the coach should have no distractions or excuses at all, regardless of who anyone believes created them.

i believe 2017 is going to be a really tough year for this team.
hopefully we're all talking about the actual footy though !

Well thought out Bobo.
Plenty of nitwits seem to think it is preferable for WT to pay Robbie the whole 950k and have him playing in reserve grade (when he is not "injured") for the whole of 2017 instead of us at least getting 200k of cap relief for someone who was never ever gonna play 1st grade for us again.
It unfortunately got to the point where he had to be out of our club even if we didn't get a cent in compensation, that crap that lingered around our club for the last few weeks couldn't be sustained.
Loved Robbie as a heart and soul player for WT but for whatever reason he needed to go- our club should be a more unified unit in 2017 and beyond now that this is over. Here's hoping anyway.

Yeah i agree FTB

As much as there is no doubt for the reasons he was put in Reserve Grade rather than him not being in the Top 17, they couldn't continue with the negativity the Club was facing .
I dare say our Sponsors would of been fed up aswell cause it doesn't look good on them either.

What do we do though seriously ? keep playing the Tit for Tat game . The Club wasn't going back on there stance of Farah playing 1st Grade again and Farah got the picture in the end and even he realizes that he had to go for the sake of his Career.

Next year there will be no excuses for anyone and Judgement Day will come for Jason Taylor.

There was talk the club were willing to pay his whole salary when it first erupted last yr, so maybe money wasn't the factor, maybe they just wanted him gone.

Yet when he (or possibly his manager) asked for a release last year, it wasn't granted. I think money off the salary cap was the factor. If the numbers being bandied about are correct, ( and its still an if) the Tigers made a mess of it and look to have been played by Ayoub.

Whats done is done, hopefully 2017 will be less eventful off the field and more on the field

We may have lost Masterton Homes as sponsor due to Robbie getting booted, I don't know if Brydens are paying as much. Farah was a favourite of Harry T.

I assume you mean Meriton. Harry let his sponsorship lapse so he could help in other ways.
The Brydens deal is the biggest in Wests Tigers history.

When were Masterton Homes a sponsor?

If you mean Meriton then they may have moved away from a sponsor's relationship in order to provide TPA's.

I reckon that it was a cap thing at the start but the situation evolved (deteriorated) into it being in such a state that they wanted him gone no matter the cost.

I'd like to agree with your sentiments for 2017 but with all our stars (Teddy, Moses, Woodsy and Brooks) coming off contract next year, we will lurch into some sort of off-field drama.
