greatest cult film ever….the evil dead.

im so glad someone out there mention this. i prefer the 2nd at times, Bruce at his finest. the 3rd one got a bit trippy comedic. apparently there is a 4th coming.
you should try sam raimi's newish one 'drag me to hell'.

in stryker's definition of cult movie, try eraserhead. it's out there.

otherwise blair witch project.

Just me for The Rocky Horror Picture Show? Thought it would have been mentioned already.

I saw The Rocky Horror Show at a theatre once. Everyone was laughing their arse off!

Alien killin it in this thread, 20 posts in a row… ~~

I'm seeing a lot of good movies being thrown up
IP man, Inception, etc...

But I still ask, what is a CULT movie?
'Cos I like a lot of these titles.

what about those die hard flicks…bruce willis at his finest...oh what a man, what a man...what a mighty fine man!!!! And he's like a vintage wine, gets better as he ages!!

cult movie demps is like a movie that has stood out over the decades to define an era...not sure die hard has but i love that trilogy...something like i guess star wars (not a big fan of) etc etc

I hate star wars too… Damn girl, we're made for each other <3

Requiem to a dream is an awesome druggy cult movie
& all the jay & silent bob movies are top notch

i think Stryker defined it pretty accurately.

its generally a film that doesn't do too well on initial release or isn't your typical mainstream film but it gains a group of hard core fans, thus the reference to a cult. then over time thanks to these fans the film gains popularity. the 'it's so bad it's good' type films are often classic cult films.

another one of mine is return of the living dead.

i actually found blair witch project a little eerie…isn't that a true story of sorts...the ending was especially a little eerie and spooky

the marketing of the film was done in a way to make it seem real. even at the start of the film it carries on this ruse. it was all done so well that plenty of people believed it and the whole deception snowballed.

it certainly was eerie, especially as (for me) you could really put yourself into the situation of the characters. very well done.
