Favourite/Least Favourite Games (2005-2012)

It's always great hearing people's opinions on certain Rugby League football games. So with this topic I would like people to tribute their favourtie and least favourite NRL games featuring our beloved Rugby League team the Wests Tigers.

Favourites:

2005 - Can't go past the 2005 NRL Grand Final
2006 - Despite it being our last game of the season, Leichhardt Oval was the game for many players - Elford, Prince, Skandalis and Laffranchi.
2007 - When we defeated the undefeated Melbourne Storm at Gosford. Lawrence scoring two tries and Collis' goal kicking.
2008 - When we played the Saints at Wollongong and won 18-10, Beau Ryan had a field day.
2009 - Our Monday night game vs Manly. This game marked the beginning of our winning ugly style!
2010 - The comeback against the Raiders in Canberra. Entertaining in every way possible.
2011 - The game where we beat the Dragons at the SFS. You had to be there to understand just how amazing it was.
2012 - Our opening game against the Sharks. A game which had everything, kick offs hitting crossbars, etc.

Least Favourite:

2005 - The game against the Dragons losing 40-32.
2006 - Skando's final game at Campbelltown, how the game finished by a Carney field goal in the final 7 seconds!
2007 - Again at Leichhardt, South Sydney smash us 37-12.
2008 - The Eels smashing us as we had loads of forwards out and getting dominated big time!
2009 - The game vs Melbourne at Melbourne with big Daine Laurie dropping the ball cold with no one in sight!
2010 - The second game vs South Sydney that went into extra time with an after the siren try by Dylan Farrell.
2011 - The Warriors finals game - I was heart broken for a week!
2012 - Vs South Sydney, the fact the game went into golden point and the tactics were horrible.

Ok….I may forget some, but here goes..

Favourites:

2005 v Cowboys in GF (standard!!)
2005 v Dragons the prelim final. Atmosphere was incredible
2007 v Broncos, Lawrence's debut and scoring a great try when Tigers were underdogs
2009 v Storm at Leichhardt. The run away try Lawrence scored to wrap the game up
2009 v Sea Eagles as said...showed how Tigers can win ugly!! and i just hate the Eagles
2010 v Sea Eagles, Ellis securing the win and that fat idiot George Rose getting sinbinned :laughing:
2010 v Eels, where Burt missed the kick, and Tigers ruined any chance the Eels had of making finals
2011 v Rabbitohs...Benji brilliance and Dwyer power running won the game

Least favourites:

2006 v Raiders.....Sakndo denied of a good farewell at Campbelltown thanks to Carney
2008 v Knights. I think Tigers had a good shot to make finals but Knights beat us at ANZ (i think??)
2009 v Eels. I'm still angry about this game where Hayne did his chip and chase to deny Tigers their 6th or 7th win
2010 v Roosters at Campbelltown, Carney scoring at the end of the game to make us lose
2010 v Rabbitohs (both times!!) where Tigers got beaten 50-10 then lost in last second of extra time to Farrell
2011 v Storm. HATE getting beaten at Leichhardt and caused Benji to be injured which caused us to lose some other games
2011 v Warriors....I'm still in denial about this game. Can't believe Warriors won that........Good damn Inu!! :frowning:
2012 v Rabbitohs....HOW DID TIGERS LOSE THAT GAME! And dislike Inglis even more after that game..

Well...off the top of my head they are the ones that really stand out in my mind, but may have forgotten some. Hope they're no more games this year that make a least favourites list!!!

That Knights game you put in 2008 was actually in 07 in round 25 the last round, we were winning 24-12 then lost 26-24 on the bell after Gidley kicking a penalty goal -_-

Pretty sure that the game against the Knights actually occured at the end of 2007, in hindsight the Tigers should have switched the game against the Rabbitohs to ANZ to appease Shane Richardson and the rest of the Souths rabble, that would have meant playing Newcastle for a finals berth on the familiar home soil of Leichhardt, we lost both games and missed out on a Semi Final spot.

I havent been too that many games over the years mainly b/c i didnt live in syd…but unfortunately i was there for the Knights loss final round of 2007, Souths loss at Leichardt final round 2008?, Warriors semi-final loss last year....still bearing the scars

In recent times the win over the Dragons at the SFS last year (not the finals match) was great.

The loss at the SFS to Souths this year was a bad one.

Favorite would have to be the Cowboys semi final, we go into halftime 14 - 6, I'm so exctied just being at a finals game and the buzz around the team, and then to score 36 points in the second half…..amazing.

Least favorite would have to be when Nathan Marritt kicked the field goal on the buzzer in 2009\. You just knew we were losing that game from the 60th minute onwards, and then with a second ago they passed it to their winger and I felt safe, breathed a sigh of relief. And then THE WINGER, KICKS A FREAKING FIELD GOAL. No, that hurt. Alot.

Least favourite games are: the 2 golden point losses to Souths (I hate Souths) and the 2010 finals loss against the Dragons (was at the game both teams were even but the Dragons had 2 extra players with the whistle that night, 3 if you count the idiot in the box that didn't give the penalty to Lote for the knees in the back).
