Checcin is the best at the moment. Balmain referee as well, along with Sean Hampstead the greatest ref

Balmain referee - what does that mean?

He did all his junior refereeing in the Balmain district. Is still actively involved with the Balmain Referees Association as well.

Thanks for the info mate.

They obviously didn't treat him very well.

Seems to have a big axe to grind.

One who gives both teams a fair go.

May times we have seen, the blatant one sided crap that goes on when a lower placed team, plays a higher placed team & higher placed more fancied team ( Broncos, Storm, Roosters etc ) gets all the 50/50 calls…...

Truth is i couldnt tell you who was any good. All of them have been over coached and no longer have a feel for the game.

The NRL need to spend a lot of time and effort on finding the right person to head up the referees.

Its time to make it a well paid job and hand it over to a well respected league identity.

It's tough these days, the reffs are on a hiding to nothing, however their consistency is at an all time low, and their sin-binning spree in them last couple of rounds has been dead set amateur hour - across all games.

I understand they need to clean up the 10 metres on attack. But they need a General rule. 3 penalties in the 20m zone, and it's a mandatory sin bin - blanket across all games. None of this call out the captain rule - Make the rule 3 consecutive penalties in a row within your own 20m zone and a player sits down - last player to infringe.

Once the ball leaves the 20m zone then it's reset.

think if it like a foul counter of some sort.

I like Henry Perenara - and that's the best of a bad bunch.
