Favourite Sayings

in the context of someone saying something like: "If the ref hadn't blown the pass forward, we would've won"

my favourite response is: "And if your aunty had balls she'd be your uncle"

I heard one today I'd never heard before

"As rare as rocking horse sh*t" Just loved it

What's your favourite ??

My old man says one that's in the same context
'As rare as hens teeth'

I quite like the one
'as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs'

- As cunning as a s**thouse rat with a gold tooth;
- A couple of roos loose in the top paddock;
- Busier than a one legged bloke in an arsekicking contest;
- So hungry I'd eat the crotch out of a low flying duck.

And my new favourite, coined by the Honey Badger: Sweating like a bag of cats at a greyhound meet.

There's others but I can't think of them right now.

Mate one of the oldest ones in the book. My old man always used it and another one of his sayings was I have not seen that since" JC played full back for Jerusalem and Mosses was second row" and his other one was "you dont have to be dead to be stiff" In fact he had a million, another good one he use "as blind as a blacksmiths dog"

They were good days I would go down to the rissole (RSL) with my old man in a small country town and he and his old mates would talk in aussie slang and tell jokes and stories. That art seem to be gone now.

He was the towns doctor and on game day would fill his medical bag with beer cans and stitching gear. The local team were the Tigers, and dominated the comp for over a decade,they were know as the St George of the bush .

They were such good days

More than one way to skin a cat was another favourite

My Maths teacher always used that

He was a handy cricketer as well , scored a ton for Qld Country v the Saffas many years ago with Peter Pollock leading the Saffas attack
