Field goal set

Can Austin handle hooker for 80 minutes , doing 40 odd tackles? He will need Fulton's help if he starts at 9\. Luani had done a lot of defensive work before Austin had come on. Players on both sides looked gassed.
Creatively Austin was great though.

Luani did his job. Didn't take on the line enough but made 34 odd tackles and all important. Also had the size to play backrower in the time after Sita came off. The combination of he and Austin served us well.

On the FG set it was great. Ava taking two hitups made me smile

It was a very clinical set for a field goal something that we never seem to do well.In my mind it was another example of the attitude that Potter has brought to the club.

Yeah but how do you go into the next game? Do you do the same as the Tigers did against Parra…with Luani staring and Austin coming on once the oppition tires?

Anasta has been taking far too much credit for an option that was all Austin and Brooks setup and execution (thanks to the go forward from the forwards as well). Anasta just happened to be on the field. I guess he can take credit for that.

I took Anasta's comment to be that he gave Brooks the option. If Brooks wanted it, it was his. Otherwise, Anasta would have taken it. Good work by the experienced player (and captain on the day).

And 'You want it, ill get it there for you' and no word of anyone else. I take that as taking credit

We looked our best at this stage in my opinion

Ava certainly has a set of tree stumps , doesn't he

You are right 1000 times over!

Brooks kicked the goal, but Austen's bullet pass was pin point accurate and that gave Brooks that extra milli-second to get set.

It couldve been better

Anasta & Austin were directing players during the set, but on the kick play….we couldve used Anasta as a dummy kicker option...though I guees to be fair the play the ball woudve had to be directly in front which it wasnt

Theres was clear concise directions and everyone was on the same page - smooth

In a bigger game, we could have farah patty brooks and Anasta- dummies galore

I noticed several the players point to the clock as it reached 00:00…..ref was packing a scrum....we need to get this crap out and play to the whistle

Brooks did well, as did Austin and Ava in this important set. But watching the replay just now, confirmed my feelings from my seat in the stands. Anasta took control as he should and really owned that set in particular.

I understand the frustration of some on here that think he is only in Austin's way and holding him back, as he is doing exactly that. Brooks went so much better than the previous week, with the return of Braith for me being the major reason.

Blake's time will come shortly, but for now and especially with Robbie out, his tag team and impact with Luani will do the job and should keep most of you happy.

After watching the Warriors blow field goal chance after field goal chance last night v the Storm we should be thankful our young inexperienced side got them into perfect field position to take the shot and Brooks nailed it first go

Well done Tigers

Leave your Anasta hate at the door before entering , he would of played some part in telling Luani / Austin exactly where he wanted them to be to take the shot

Being a right or left footer comes into it , if you are a left footer you want to be slightly left of the post , being a right footer you want to be slightly right of the post

Didn't see the Warriors, but the Broncos really had a terrible lead-up to their field goal attempt. They were so slow with their hit-ups that they were struggling to make any sort of ground. Then the pass to the kicker was slow too, allowing Souths to charge down and eventually win the game. Was totally different to how we finished off the game last week.

I'd love to see Patty Richards nail a field goal from the sideline… Like he did in the UK. or from halfway. Brooks seems to have a very clean strike of the ball, but to see Patty unleash a massive drop punt would be something else.
