Can you explain further for those of us not following from home?

To paraphrase( and hoping I’m correct)Volpato made the decision after family consultation, which I’m assuming was to play for the old country and fulfil their wishes to be part of Italian football.
The-third has mentioned racial lines ( Italian), oldies living through their sons ( Dad, Mum and maybe Uncles and others).
If not for that cajoling then he possibly would have been happy to play for the Socceroos.
Of course we don’t know if that exactly the truth.
PS, this is just my interpretation of what has been written.
