Fifita a must for Origin

He ran cross field plenty of times for Sharks, he even spoke of it recently and said Gallen set him straight.

No need to rewrite history.

Too right, he took a nice cross-field stroll in the City-Country game and was promptly pinned by one of the country players.

If it's an argument about Woods vs Fifita, I'll state my case this way: Woods two weeks in a row against representative-level packs (Broncos and Bulldogs) made over 148m, playing essentially a lone-hand in our go-forward. I'd love to see his opportunities in a performing, undepleted pack. He's already managed over 1km of territory in 8 rounds, coming off pre-season injury.

Fifita is probably in career-best form, but he isn't shouldering the workload like Woods is. In fact apart from last week's standout 251m against Newcastle, Fifita has only managed to crack 148m once in the previous 7 rounds.

If they choose 3 props, it should be Tamou, Woods and Merrin. Gallen, Watmough, Bird and Lewis are already going to fill the backrow. Another prop spot on the bench may see Fifita in over Grant or Mannah.

fifita will play good when your team is playing good.. he will hide in his shelf when the team looks to him for something.

woods is way over fifita it's not funny. fifita STILL does go sideways at times, that's his x-factor but against a defense like maroons' he's gonna get smashed.

tamou, grant, woods, merrin is a solid prop rotation.. better than qld's on current form 100% (scott, hannant, shillo/mcguire/??)

watmough, bird, gallen and lewis vs myles, thaiday, parker and t'eo… with the exception of myles and thaiday.. all the others are better than the other two.

our forwards this year will win the ruck im pretty sure of it.. farah and co. have to take full use of that. tate and hodges will be slow as.. attach that side through jennings and hayne and we'll have a killer squad.

UP THE BLUES !!!!

Lucky we moved him on, if both him and Woods get picked for origin we could of had two of our props out for origin.

Before the start of the year I would have said this is crazy talk but I must admit he's been pretty good this season. I still don't think he has the minutes or impact to play origin at the moment. If he went crossfield for NSW he'd get cleaned up pretty easily.

He hasn't run crossfield since he was wearing a Tigers jersey. Something else the Sharks managed to fix that we couldn't

It doesn't happen as much but it still happens.

Yep, worth getting rid of him so we don't have to be without both of them for 2 games a yr

I can see the benefits of this…

10\. Tamou
9\. Farah
10\. Grant
11\. Watmough
12\. Gallen
13\. Bird

14\. Lewis
15\. Williams
16\. Woods
17\. Fifita

...something like that.

That's a pretty good team that could look to win it. No need for a back on the bench as Farah, Bird and Lewis can cover any injury in the backs during a game. Here's hoping that's the forward pack.

But they always do something stupid every year, like Buhrer in game one last year. Not that he's a bad player, but seriously, wtf? Picked him as the reserve hooker, only to play 10 minutes. Other dumb things they've done in the past is chocking the side full of the previous year's premiers, Ben 'The Cat' Creagh continuously making the team despite possessing the smallest heart in Rugby League and Kurt 'The Utility/Captain' Gidley.
