Fifita gamble pays off for Flanagan

Saw him at the Mean Fiddler once last year, he was having a huge argument with his (I presume) girlfriend. It got pretty intense and he was going nuts. Myself and a few mates had to tell him to give it a rest after he pushed her away at one point. Earlier in the night one of my tiger mad buddies asked for a picture and he was pretty rude about that as well.

Has potential to be a half decent prop but a crap attitude and an ego to boot. Hope he enjoys running 12th to 16th every year

Congratulations to Mr Sheens and management.

Fafita - gone, good luck. Will not be missed, as the team performed outstandingly without him 2011.
Gibbs - the sacrifice, unlucky, love the guys heart and playing style. Will be missed.
Blair - outstanding recruitment.
Woods - positive recruitment.
Groat - positive recruitment.

It's a business!
PS. Flanagan is not a bum, give him a couple of years.

Coaches generally don't get a couple of years. If even halfway through the season Cronulla are in the bottom 6, Flanagan will get the flick

Woods and Groat weren't recruitments

I think a lot of people are criticising Fifitas play just because he has signed elsewhere.

He is a very good player and will be missed

Definitely agree with this.

He obviously does have some attitude/training issues but with his head in the right place, he could be anything. People who are hammering him are obviously just upset because he has signed with the Sharks.

He could go either way, end up a nobody or become a superstar, who knows. But to dismiss him just because he's gone is a bit petty.

Its a cop out to say anyone hating on Fifita is just upset he joined another club, in order to believe that you have to ignore how he played/handled himself in 2011.

I think he may come back to hurt us, we shuld never hav let him go :frowning:

Also was he injurd at the end of las year or was he just dropped coz he signed with Sharks?

If keeping Fifita meant we would have lost 2 of Woods, Groat and Begovic (which it would have) then letting him go was the right decision.

IMO Fifita is better than Woods and Groat, so we didnt really come out infront here.

Fifita may play better games than Woods and Groat from time to time , but for consistancy Woods in particular and Groat will be far more reliable performance wise

I'd take Woods and Groat before Fifita any day of the week based on last year. Again, I will reserve final judgement until Fifita has played a few games for the Sharks, but at this stage the Tigers definitely made the right choice.

Dont agree at all mate. If would have Woods way ahead of Fifita - particularly on last years form. Fifita can look dangerous at times. Unfortunately most of the time he struggles to carry the ball further than 3m on a hit up.

In order i rate woods first then fifita then groat….. All three have a lot of improve in them........ Fifitas fend is off the radar, but woods has class olskool prop all over him!! Im expectin a big year for him, especially if the fb follows him.... He always has an offload waiting but....

I don't think anyone can doubt that Fifita has that x-factor every team needs. Its just about him having the right attitude, which im confident can improve as he matures and gets older

There just seemed to be something about Fifita, he would just open up a game by himself and turn the momentum of a game on its head wif a few line breaks, i havent seen that from Woods yet.

He has potential, but he goes missing and can get very lazy. When he fires up and plays with some mongrel he's a machine.
However as I stated earlier I've personally seen him out and acting like a complete tool. He is known as a bloke with a crap attitude, I would much rather see a hungry, hard working and honest player with a good attitude like Groat and Woods any day of the week.

he's still a kid. With growth comes maturity. he played his heart out when he was with us, he did his best, he showed glimpses of brilliance, but his soul was amputated by decisions that he had no control of. In 2 months, maybe more, we'll all find out the truth, Cronulla will give him that opportunity. I hope it all turns out well for him, and that he makes it to the elite level. I wish him all the best.
