Fifita gamble pays off for Flanagan

What about the ethics and professionalism of players back here at Wests Tigers?
As if the guidance and example of say, the Gareth Ellis type player isn't the role model player to influence others.
Flanagan is still in nappies in regard to NRL coaching outcomes.
Great potential but I am yet to see the legacy of players revealing "his" style.
And anyway, as a combo, Snowden and Douglas are a different duo to that of Gibbs and Fifita.
Bump and grind yardage versus hard-nosed defence coupled with sporadic flair.
Time will tell.

Cant wait for adam blair to show andrew fifta how a superstar is meant to play.

you and me both..but for me I want Blair to play up to his reputation. I watched him towards the end of last year and his involvement was minimal considering his reputation… I think I am the only Blair doubter on this site..but thats ok .

Blair is about so much more than onfield performance.

His work ethic and proffessionalism are at the highest level and he is a perfect character to bring in not just for his onfield but his ability to pass on knowledge and work ethic to the young forwards at the club.

Ben Murdoch will learn so much from Blair

Exactly, Adam Blair is such a massive signing for reasons on and off field.

Same goes for Lote and Gareth - these guys are PR dreams.

How do you know this ?…he was sent off at the end of the year for the brawl and cost his team heaps..how about that for professionalism.

He was sent off because Glenn Stewart instigated another fight with him. He should have been binned for the first blue, but to be sent off defending himself defied stupidity itself.

There's a reason why he plays for NZ and is the vice captain of the side. He was suspended from the finals and the Melbourne pack was easily beaten in his absence.

I agree GNR - great response Cultured Bogan.

It's a tough game and sometimes in the heat of battle things happen but if you look at Blair's record on and off the field you cant call him anything but a true pro.

OK guys.. I am on my own. But I have seen more outrageous comments than mine. I will stick with my view until he performs…People who respond please remember this is my personal view ..which is the purpose of this site. It is not over the top. Not RIDICULOUS.

No not ridiculous at all and if we all agreed on everything it would be a pretty boring place

You say that now 74SF, but i'm sure after a few games in the Black, White and Gold and he becomes one of the boys, you'll warm to him

I really think Gibbs + Fifita are a better combo than Snowden & Douglas. I think FIFITA will be an absolute star under the influence of Paul GALLEN. He will thrive under Flanagan's style and ability to get players to perform.

FIFITA WILL EARN A NSW JUMPER IN 2012

I dont know about being a star but more like star dust I believe. I think the only time he will thrive is when he can take it easy. If Flanagan can get players to perform then he must be the messiah…...

Get a grip bug the guy is lazy and will struggle to put it together week in week out

Fifita could be anything, depending on his attitude, but I have to agree with Bug about Gibbs. I personally reckon Gibbs is a better prop than either Snowden or Douglas.

Flanagan wanted Fifita more than Gibbs but IMO Bryce will be the far better buy for the team, especially when he takes on the defensive workload down the middle, which should ease the workload for Gallen and allow him to attack more.

Good Call CB,

Fifita can be juggernaut, however its not enough. Starting props that can rack up the tackles are worth their weight in gold.

Conversely if Gibbs can bend the line a little more he will greatly improve his value to the Sharks.

Both will play different roles at their new club and I will the well (except in rd 1)

Think Sharks got a good deal. Fifita is young and has room for improvement. BG Finally seemed more focused than previous years. AB had a pretty quite year except for his part in the BB which cost him and his team 5weeks.

No way imo are Gibbs/Fifita better than Snowden and Douglas….the latter two run harder, straighter and have past the line offloads.

I think the sharks have done well to replace to top shelfers with quality but thats about it!

And that's been evident in Cronulla's performances in the last three years, hasn't it?
