Films Not Movies

2001: a space odyssey, remastered 50 year anniversary edition.

A movie way before it's time and quite amazing for that period. It will certainly not be everybody's cup of tea, but the 2018 conversion to Dolby Vision 4k is a masterpiece for a production of such age, with the HDR 10 presentation within a slight step down on that, plus the already outstanding soundtrack for the day has been somewhat enhanced to make it even better.

Bad Times at the El Royale.

Best and most interesting film ive seen in a decade.

I wouldn't go anywhere near that far, but watched it today and enjoyed it, even though I find Jeff Bridges ha5d to cop at the best of times.

Agree with you there, I've always loved it!

Im a huge foreign film fan.

Anyone seen the film Irréversible. Unbelievably disturbing and lingers with you for about a week. Not for the faint-hearted.

The whole sequence with HAL I watch over and over. Love when they are sitting and eating the much watching flat screen TVs. Kubrick the visionary.

Eyes Wide Shut is another classic Kubrick film. I love adding up how much cash Tom Cruise burns through on his odyessy. You eventually lose track.

Its pretty brutal to sit through it.

I read an article that said 250 people fled the film's Cannes premiere, with many of those fainting and seeking medical treatment. It's so bad even some its actors can't sit through watching it. Apparently the movie also used infrasound, or low-frequency sound waves, to augment its unsettling visuals. You can't actually hear the sound, but your body registers it which can cause feelings of anxiety, unease, distress, depression, shivers and nausea.

I watched it about 10 years ago and just 2 weeks ago for some whacked out reason i gave it another viewing just to see if i remembered it being really that hard to watch. The wife lasted about 5 mins and left the room. I didnt sleep too well that night.
